CON DIFERENTES ACTOS SE CONMEMORÓ EL PASADO MIERCOLES, 9 DE ABRIL, DÍA DE LA MUERTE DEL LÍDER JORGE ELIECER GITÁN.

Con diferentes actos se conmemoró el pasado miércoles, 9 de abril, el día de la Memoria y la solidaridad con las víctimas del Conflicto armado.

Dicha fecha fue instituida, precisamente, como recordatorio de que 9 de abril de 1948 cúndalo fue asesinado en Bogotá el líder liberal, Jorge Eliecer Gaitán.

Este crimen desató una de las más intensas oleadas de violencia que ha vivido Colombia.

Lo paradójico es que ese día nadie se acordó de Jorge Eliecer Gaitán, cuyo busto permanece relegado en el olvido y la soledad en el parque que lleva su nombre, en la carrera 4ª. entre calles 25 y 26 de la Capital de la República

Ni siquiera una sencilla ofrenda floral.

Various events commemorated the Day of Remembrance and Solidarity with the Victims of the Armed Conflict last Wednesday, April 9th.

This date was established specifically to commemorate the assassination of Liberal leader Jorge Eliecer Gaitán in Bogotá on April 9, 1948.

This crime unleashed one of the most intense waves of violence Colombia has ever experienced. The paradox is that no one remembered Jorge Eliecer Gaitán that day, whose bust remains relegated to oblivion and solitude in the park that bears his name, on 4th Avenue between 25th and 26th Streets in the Capital of the Republic.

Not even a simple floral offering.
