Colombia impulsa agenda internacional para fortalecer sus capacidades de defensa.

Nuestro país, participa en la Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference (DIMDEX 2026), una de las ferias de seguridad y defensa más importantes del mundo.

Los ejes estratégicos del país se concentran en seguridad terrestre, portuaria y marítima; cocreación y fortalecimiento de la industria de defensa; sistemas de drones y antidrones; ciberseguridad; y capacidades en vehículos blindados entre otros.

Estos espacios fortalecen el intercambio tecnológico, la cooperación militar, el desarrollo industrial y el diálogo sobre seguridad global.

Como parte de la agenda internacional del Gobierno de Colombia orientada a robustecer las capacidades de seguridad y ampliar la cooperación con naciones amigas, el Ministro de Defensa Nacional, Pedro Sánchez Suárez, participa en la DIMDEX 2026, una de las vitrinas más importantes del sector a nivel mundial.

Durante el evento, Colombia prioriza el intercambio de conocimientos y experiencias en seguridad terrestre, portuaria y marítima, así como la cocreación y el fortalecimiento de la industria de defensa, el desarrollo de sistemas de drones y antidrones, procedimientos de ciberseguridad y capacidades en vehículos blindados, entre otros frentes clave.

En el marco de la feria, el Ministro Pedro Sánchez ha asistido a exposiciones de tecnologías marítimas, sistemas de seguridad, navegación, comunicaciones y defensa, además de participar en conferencias y paneles estratégicos con altos oficiales y expertos internacionales para analizar los desafíos actuales de la seguridad global. Estos espacios han permitido tender puentes de cooperación técnica, explorar alianzas estratégicas y avanzar en acuerdos con la industria.

La participación de Colombia en DIMDEX 2026 reafirma el interés del país por fortalecer su posicionamiento internacional en defensa y seguridad, diversificar cooperantes estratégicos y establecer nuevas alianzas que respondan a los retos presentes y futuros. La feria se consolida como una plataforma clave para el intercambio de capacidades, la innovación tecnológica y la cooperación internacional en los ámbitos marítimo, aéreo y terrestre.

En este contexto, Colombia busca ampliar su red de socios internacionales, promoviendo esquemas de cooperación técnica, industrial y operativa que contribuyan al desarrollo de capacidades soberanas.

Como parte de la agenda, el Ministro de Defensa sostendrá reuniones con los ministros del Interior y de Defensa de Qatar y realizará visitas estratégicas a puertos marítimos para conocer de primera mano las capacidades tecnológicas del país anfitrión.

Asimismo, el Ministro Sánchez Suárez sostuvo un encuentro estratégico con el Secretario de la Industria Militar de Turquía, Haluk Görgün. En este espacio, ambas partes firmaron un memorando de entendimiento orientado a incrementar la autonomía y diversificar las capacidades de la industria de defensa colombiana.

La DIMDEX 2026 reúne a líderes militares, tomadores de decisiones, gobiernos, empresas del sector y expertos internacionales, exhibiendo tecnologías avanzadas y soluciones innovadoras en los ámbitos naval y marítimo. Colombia ha aprovechado este escenario para concretar contactos, alianzas y acuerdos de cooperación que fortalezcan a la Fuerza Pública en la lucha contra el crimen transnacional.

La feria, que se realiza en Doha, es organizada por las Fuerzas Armadas de Qatar y cuenta con el patrocinio del Emir del Estado de Qatar, Tamim Bin Hamad Al Thani.

Colombia promotes international agenda to strengthen its defense capabilities.

Our country is participating in the Doha International Maritime Defence Exhibition & Conference (DIMDEX 2026), one of the world’s most important security and defense trade shows.

The country’s strategic priorities focus on land, port, and maritime security; co-creation and strengthening of the defense industry; drone and counter-drone systems; cybersecurity; and armored vehicle capabilities, among others.

These events strengthen technological exchange, military cooperation, industrial development, and dialogue on global security.

As part of the Colombian government’s international agenda aimed at strengthening security capabilities and expanding cooperation with friendly nations, the Minister of National Defense, Pedro Sánchez Suárez, is participating in DIMDEX 2026, one of the most important showcases in the sector worldwide.

During the event, Colombia is prioritizing the exchange of knowledge and experiences in land, port, and maritime security, as well as the co-creation and strengthening of the defense industry, the development of drone and counter-drone systems, cybersecurity procedures, and armored vehicle capabilities, among other key areas.

At the fair, Minister Pedro Sánchez attended exhibitions of maritime technologies, security systems, navigation, communications, and defense, in addition to participating in conferences and strategic panels with high-ranking officials and international experts to analyze current global security challenges. These forums have facilitated the building of technical cooperation, the exploration of strategic alliances, and progress on agreements with industry.

Colombia’s participation in DIMDEX 2026 reaffirms the country’s interest in strengthening its international standing in defense and security, diversifying strategic partners, and establishing new alliances that address current and future challenges. The fair is consolidating its position as a key platform for the exchange of capabilities, technological innovation, and international cooperation in the maritime, air, and land sectors.

In this context, Colombia seeks to expand its network of international partners, promoting technical, industrial, and operational cooperation schemes that contribute to the development of sovereign capabilities.

As part of the agenda, the Minister of Defense will hold meetings with the Ministers of the Interior and Defense of Qatar and will conduct strategic visits to seaports to gain firsthand knowledge of the host country’s technological capabilities.

Likewise, Minister Sánchez Suárez held a strategic meeting with the Secretary of the Military Industry of Turkey, Haluk Görgün. During this meeting, both parties signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at increasing the autonomy and diversifying the capabilities of the Colombian defense industry.

DIMDEX 2026 brings together military leaders, decision-makers, governments, companies in the sector, and international experts, showcasing advanced technologies and innovative solutions in the naval and maritime fields. Colombia has taken advantage of this platform to establish contacts, alliances, and cooperation agreements that will strengthen the Public Force in the fight against transnational crime.
