El músico colombiano César López, creador de la ‘escopetarra’, ofrecerá este martes un concierto en la sede de las Naciones Unidas en Nueva York para conmemorar los siete años de la firma del Acuerdo de Paz en Colombia.

El concierto, titulado “Contar la Guerra, Contar la Paz”, fue organizado por la Misión Permanente de Colombia en la ONU, que también presenta una muestra comercial de productos como miel, café, y frutas deshidratadas de cooperativas fundadas por firmantes del Acuerdo.

César López es famoso mundialmente por haber creado la ‘escopetarra’, un instrumento de cuerda hecho a partir de un fusil y convertido en símbolo de paz. Más de veinte copias del instrumento musical se han entregado a distintos museos del mundo.

La presentación es parte de la programación coordinada por el Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, que incluye 25 actividades en 12 países de América, Europa y Asia, hasta el 1° de diciembre.

En las embajadas de Colombia

Los eventos y muestras de artes visuales, música, gastronomía, artes escénicas, literatura y cine se programaron en Perú, Reino Unido, México, Estados Unidos, Suecia, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Noruega, Japón, Portugal, Suiza y Tailandia, para mostrar al mundo las transformaciones sociales que se han alcanzado con la implementación del Acuerdo de Paz de 2016.

Las Tejedoras de Mampuján, grupo formado por mujeres víctimas de Maria La Baja (Bolívar), estuvieron en Perú y el Reino Unido.

En Costa Rica se realizó el acto “Colombia Pinta y Cuenta la Paz”, en el que se pintó un mural alusivo a los casos de Colombia presentados ante la Corte Interamericana de Derechos Humanos (Corte IDH).

La Embajada en Tailandia coordinó la proyección del documental ‘Cuando las aguas se juntan’, que coincide con la conmemoración del Día Internacional de la No Violencia contra las Mujeres.

Por su parte, la Embajada de Colombia en Bélgica realizará este 28 de noviembre un conversatorio para reflexionar sobre la experiencia colombiana en la construcción de paz.

El 30 de noviembre se efectuará en Noruega un conversatorio académico sobre conflicto y paz total en el país con Manifiesta Colombia, un colectivo que promueve colecciones de moda confeccionadas por víctimas y excombatientes, para generar oportunidades de sustento económico entre quienes se acogieron a los Acuerdos.

The Colombian musician César López, creator of the ‘escopetarra’, will offer a concert this Tuesday at the United Nations headquarters in New York to commemorate seven years since the signing of the Peace Agreement in Colombia.

The concert, titled “Tell the War, Tell the Peace,” was organized by the Permanent Mission of Colombia to the UN, which also presents a commercial exhibition of products such as honey, coffee, and dehydrated fruits from cooperatives founded by signatories of the Agreement.

César López is world famous for having created the ‘escopetarra’, a string instrument made from a rifle and converted into a symbol of peace. More than twenty copies of the musical instrument have been delivered to different museums around the world.

The presentation is part of the programming coordinated by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which includes 25 activities in 12 countries in America, Europe and Asia, until December 1.

In the Colombian embassies

Events and exhibitions of visual arts, music, gastronomy, performing arts, literature and cinema were scheduled in Peru, United Kingdom, Mexico, United States, Sweden, Ecuador, Costa Rica, Norway, Japan, Portugal, Switzerland and Thailand, to show to the world the social transformations that have been achieved with the implementation of the 2016 Peace Agreement.

The Tejedoras de Mampuján, a group formed by women victims of Maria La Baja (Bolívar), were in Peru and the United Kingdom.

In Costa Rica, the “Colombia Paint and Tell Peace” event was held, in which a mural was painted alluding to the Colombian cases presented before the Inter-American Court of Human Rights (Inter-American Court).

The Embassy in Thailand coordinated the screening of the documentary ‘When the Waters Gather’, which coincides with the commemoration of the International Day of No Violence against Women.

For its part, the Colombian Embassy in Belgium will hold a discussion this November 28 to reflect on the Colombian experience in peacebuilding.

On November 30, an academic discussion on conflict and total peace in the country will be held in Norway with Manifesta Colombia, a group that promotes fashion collections made by victims and ex-combatants, to generate opportunities for economic support among those who took advantage of the Agreements.
