Después de dos emanas las autoridades lograron la captura de Elder José Arteaga, alias el Costeño o Chipi, señalado como uno de los cerebros del atentado contra el senador Miguel Uribe Turbay.

La captura se dio en la madrugada de este sábado en una casa del barrio El Muelle, de la localidad de Engativá (Bogotá).

El director de la Policía Nacional, General Carlos Fernando Triana, aseguró en rueda de prensa que la captura de alias “el Costeño”, constituye un resultado valioso para el país y prometió que ahora la prioridad será identificar y llevar ante la justicia a quienes planearon el atentado.

Vamos por los autores intelectuales de este hecho que se presentó en contra de la integrad del senador Miguel Uribe Turbay declaro el alto oficial.

Por su parte, la fiscal Deicy Jaramillo Rivera, expicó que Elder José Arteaga, será presentado nte un juz de control de garantías para su judicialización por los delitos de atentado de homicidio agravado, fabricación, tráfico y tenencia de arma de fuego agravada, concierto par delinquir agravado y uso de menores de edad para cometer un delito.

“Alias el Costeño habría sido el encargado de inducir y utilizar al menor de edad par que atentara contra la vida del senador y precandidato presidencial Miguel Uribe Turbay.

After two weeks, authorities captured Elder José Arteaga, alias El Costeño or Chipi, identified as one of the masterminds of the attack on Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay.

The arrest took place early Saturday morning at a home in the El Muelle neighborhood of Engativá (Bogotá).

The director of the National Police, General Carlos Fernando Triana, stated in a press conference that the capture of alias «El Costeño» constitutes a valuable result for the country and promised that the priority now will be to identify and bring to justice those who planned the attack.

«We are going after the masterminds of this attack, which was filed against Senator Miguel Uribe Turbay,» the high-ranking officer declared.

For her part, prosecutor Deicy Jaramillo Rivera explained that Elder José Arteaga will be brought before a court of guarantees for prosecution for the crimes of aggravated attempted homicide, aggravated manufacturing, trafficking, and possession of a firearm, aggravated conspiracy to commit a crime, and the use of minors to commit a crime.
