Capturado cabecilla financiero del GAO Clan del Golfo en Yondó, Antioquia.

Alias Keili o Faber, sería el presunto cabecilla financiero del grupo armado organizado (GAO) Clan del Golfo en la región del Magdalena Medio.

En desarrollo de una operación militar adelantada por el Gaula Militar Magdalena Medio, en coordinación con la SIJIN de la Policía Nacional y gracias a labores de inteligencia, en el municipio de Yondó, Antioquia, se logró la captura en flagrancia de un sujeto conocido con los alias de Keili o Faber. 

El capturado era señalado como presunto cabecilla financiero de la subestructura Edgar de Jesús Madrid Benjumea del GAO Clan del Golfo que delinque en los municipios de Simití, San Pablo y Cantagallo, Bolívar, Yondó, Antioquia, así como Puerto Wilches y Barrancabermeja en Santander. 

Este sujeto sería el responsable de dirigir extorsiones contra distintos gremios de la región y desde el 2019 habría participado como autor intelectual en acciones armadas contra la población civil, periodistas de la región y la Fuerza Pública, entre ellas el ataque a la estación de Policía de Simití, Bolívar, el pasado 25 de abril del 2025, donde perdieron la vida dos uniformados y otro más resultó herido, así como el homicidio de su compañera sentimental en junio del año anterior. 

Durante la diligencia de allanamiento se incautó un arma de fuego, cartuchos para la misma y material de importancia para las investigaciones contra este grupo armado organizado. El capturado fue dejado a disposición de la autoridad judicial competente.

Esta acción representa un golpe contundente a las finanzas criminales del Clan del Golfo y consolida el compromiso del Ejército Nacional, en articulación con las demás autoridades, por la protección de la población civil del Magdalena Medio.

During a military operation carried out by the Magdalena Medio Military Gaula (GAU), in coordination with the National Police’s SIJIN (Intelligence Unit for the Investigation of Terrorist Units) and thanks to intelligence work, an individual known as Keili or Faber was captured in flagrante delicto in the municipality of Yondó, Antioquia. The detainee was identified as the alleged financial leader of the Edgar de Jesús Madrid Benjumea substructure of the GAO Clan del Golfo, which operates in the municipalities of Simití, San Pablo, and Cantagallo, Bolívar, Yondó, Antioquia, as well as Puerto Wilches and Barrancabermeja in Santander.

This individual is believed to be responsible for directing extortion attacks against various unions in the region and, since 2019, has allegedly participated as a mastermind in armed actions against the civilian population, journalists in the region, and law enforcement officers. These included the attack on the Simití Police Station in Bolívar on April 25, 2025, in which two officers were killed and another was injured, as well as the murder of his partner in June of the previous year.

During the search warrant, a firearm, ammunition, and material important to the investigations into this organized armed group were seized. The detainee was placed at the disposal of the competent judicial authority.

This action represents a decisive blow to the criminal finances of the Gulf Clan and consolidates the commitment of the National Army, in coordination with other authorities, to the protection of the civilian population of the Magdalena Medio region.
