El caso del ciudadano estadounidense fue encontrado en un hotel del exclusivo sector del “El Poblado, en Medellín, con dos menores de edad de 12 y 13 años y la reciente captura de otro hombre que también fue sorprendido con un niño de 12 años, si como la detención de otro más cuando estaba con dos menores en un motel del Valle de Aburrá, ponen nuevamente sobre la mesa de grave problema  de la explosión sexual infantil en odas las ciudades del país y en donde Pereira s una de sus principales protagonistas.

Para tener una idea de la magnitud de este grave problema, en el 78% de los procesos que lleva el sistema Penal Oral Acusatorio de la fiscalía, por un deleito asociado a la explotación sexual en el país, la víctima es, según un estudio del Observatorio de explotación Sexual Comercial de Niñas, Niños y Adolescentes, un menor de edad o un adolescente.

El crecimiento de la industria del turismo, de la mano de las nuevas tecnologías digitales que permiten la búsqueda de toda clase de ofertas turísticas, han facilitado el avance de este problema y sobre

 La aparición de organizaciones criminales dedicadas a ofrecer no solamente paquetes turísticos tradicionales,  sino como parte  de los servicios sexuales de hombres y mujeres, incluidos menores de edad.

Para evitar que su ciudad sea el objetivo del trismo extranjero por la oferta de los servicios sexuales de sus lindas mujeres, en vez de serlo por sus tractivos turísticos.
