La malaria también conocida como paludismo, es una enfermedad que se trasmite por la picadura de mosquitos infectados.

Es una patología que puede ser mortal y que en Risaralda tiene una alta presencia, sobre todo en Pueblo Rico.

Según información del Instituto Nacional de Salud, este año con corte al 17 de junio, ocupaba el quito lugar entre los municipios más afectados por malaria no complicada en Colombia, registrando 1355 casos, Quibdó Chocó con 2750, Puerto Libertador en Córdoba con 1699 y el Bagre Antioquia con 1476.

En las últimas semanas desde el 16 al 26 de junio se registró un brote de malaria en el resguardo indígena de Kemberde´en Pueblo Rico.

Desde la Cruz Roja Seccional Risaralda, atendieron la solicitud.

Los datos de Pueblo Rico en la actual vigencia, duplican los casos de malaria registrados en el mismo periodo del 2022, cuando dicho municipio tuvo 594 casos, según información de la entidad mencionada.

Malaria, also known as paludism, is a disease that is transmitted by the bite of infected mosquitoes.

It is a pathology that can be fatal and that has a high presence in Risaralda, especially in Pueblo Rico.

According to information from the National Institute of Health, this year as of June 17, it ranked fifth among the municipalities most affected by uncomplicated malaria in Colombia, registering 1,355 cases, Quibdó Chocó with 2,750, Puerto Libertador in Córdoba with 1,699 and the Catfish Antioquia with 1476.

In the last weeks from June 16 to 26, there was an outbreak of malaria in the indigenous reservation of Kemberde’en Pueblo Rico.

From the Risaralda Sectional Red Cross, they responded to the request.

The data for Pueblo Rico in the current period doubles the cases of malaria registered in the same period of 2022, when said municipality had 594 cases, according to information from the aforementioned entity.

With 75 cases of malaria this year, Mistrato Risaralda is among the municipalities in the country on alert for malaria, although the figure is not very high compared to Pueblo Rico, it represents a considerable increase with previous weeks or years.
