El exrepresentante a la Cámara por Risaralda y hoy concejal de Pereira Mauricio Salazar continúa perfilándose como el favorito para llegar a la Alcaldía de la ‘Perla del Otún’, según han arrojado los diferentes sondeos y confirmó la más reciente encuesta de intención de voto realizada por la firma Investigar Lambda S.A.S, registrada ante el Consejo Nacional Electoral.

En dicho sondeo, efectuado con una muestra de 2714 personas, Salazar lidera la intención de voto para llegar al primer cargo ejecutivo de esta ciudad del Eje Cafetero con un 16,2%, superando por casi 9% a su más inmediato perseguidor, Maicol Lopera, que registró un 7.3%, y por un más de 12% a Steven Cárdenas, que marcó 3.5%.

Salazar, que terminó segundo en las elecciones regionales de 2019, situación por la que accedió a una curul en el Concejo de Pereira, merced del estatuto de oposición, es abogado de la Universidad Libre, especialista en Administración de EAFIT y en Servicios Públicos Domiciliarios de la Universidad Externado de Colombia. También es magíster en Administración de la EAFIT y en Gobierno Municipal de la Universidad Externado.

Salazar, hoy aspirante por la coalición de partidos Primero Pereira, se ha desempeñado como personero de Pereira y asesor de la Gobernación de Risaralda. Durante el último cuatrenio, este empresario se destacó por ser uno de los grandes opositores del actual alcalde Carlos Maya y su predecesor Juan Pablo Gallo.
