Balance operacional destaca acciones de ingenieros militares en todo el país.

Durante el primer trimestre de 2026, ingenieros militares ejecutaron operaciones en infraestructura, atención de emergencias y seguridad, impactando a miles de personas en el país. 

Uno de los principales frentes de acción estuvo a cargo de la Brigada de Ingenieros de Construcciones, que avanza en proyectos estratégicos de conectividad y desarrollo. Entre ellos se destaca el convenio vial en la región del Catatumbo y La Mata (Cesar), orientado a la pavimentación y mantenimiento de vías que benefician a más de 20 mil habitantes.

De igual forma, en el departamento de La Guajira, mediante un convenio de cooperación, se adelantan obras de mejoramiento vial que incluyen la construcción de terraplenes, alcantarillas y sistemas de drenaje, impactando a más de 700 mil personas, principalmente en comunidades Wayuu. A esto se suma la estructuración del proyecto férreo entre Villavicencio y Puerto Gaitán, una iniciativa de largo alcance que busca fortalecer la infraestructura logística del país.

En el componente de atención de emergencias, la Brigada de Ingenieros de Atención y Prevención de Desastres desplegó capacidades en 13 departamentos y 35 municipios, atendiendo situaciones críticas y brindando apoyo humanitario. Durante este periodo, se atendieron nueve incendios forestales, se movilizaron más de 300 toneladas de alimentos y se distribuyeron 559 toneladas de ayudas humanitarias.

Además, se realizaron evacuaciones de más de 2.400 personas y 679 animales, así como la entrega de más de 3,2 millones de litros de agua potable. Estas acciones permitieron impactar directamente a cerca de 296 mil ciudadanos, en medio de escenarios de emergencia y eventos adversos.

Por su parte, la Brigada Especial de Ingenieros concentró esfuerzos en la instalación de infraestructura crítica y la neutralización de amenazas explosivas. Entre sus resultados se destaca la instalación de puentes semipermanentes en Santander y Magdalena, con capacidades de carga de hasta 52 toneladas, beneficiando a más de 160 mil personas.

Adicionalmente, en departamentos como Cauca y Arauca, se llevaron a cabo operaciones de neutralización de artefactos explosivos improvisados, contribuyendo a la seguridad de comunidades vulnerables y al desarrollo de operaciones en terreno.

De esta manera ingenieros militares del Ejército Nacional, evidencian el papel estratégico de sus capacidades, no solo en el fortalecimiento de la infraestructura y la conectividad, sino también en la atención de emergencias y la mitigación de riesgos, en un contexto donde la acción institucional resulta clave para el bienestar de los colombianos.

Operational report highlights actions of military engineers throughout the country.

During the first quarter of 2026, military engineers carried out operations in infrastructure, emergency response, and security, impacting thousands of people nationwide.

One of the main areas of focus was the Construction Engineers Brigade, which is advancing strategic connectivity and development projects. Among these is the road agreement in the Catatumbo and La Mata region (Cesar), aimed at paving and maintaining roads that benefit more than 20,000 residents.

Similarly, in the department of La Guajira, through a cooperation agreement, road improvement works are underway, including the construction of embankments, culverts, and drainage systems, impacting more than 700,000 people, primarily in Wayuu communities. In addition, the structuring of the railway project between Villavicencio and Puerto Gaitán is being carried out, a long-term initiative that seeks to strengthen the country’s logistics infrastructure.

In the emergency response component, the Disaster Relief and Prevention Engineering Brigade deployed capabilities in 13 departments and 35 municipalities, addressing critical situations and providing humanitarian support. During this period, they responded to nine forest fires, mobilized more than 300 tons of food, and distributed 559 tons of humanitarian aid.

In addition, they carried out evacuations of more than 2,400 people and 679 animals, as well as delivering more than 3.2 million liters of potable water. These actions directly impacted approximately 296,000 citizens amidst emergency scenarios and adverse events.

Meanwhile, the Special Engineering Brigade focused its efforts on the installation of critical infrastructure and the neutralization of explosive threats. Among its achievements was the installation of semi-permanent bridges in Santander and Magdalena, with load capacities of up to 52 tons, benefiting more than 160,000 people.

Additionally, in departments such as Cauca and Arauca, operations were carried out to neutralize improvised explosive devices, contributing to the safety of vulnerable communities and the development of field operations.

In this way, military engineers from the National Army demonstrate the strategic role of their capabilities, not only in strengthening infrastructure and connectivity, but also in emergency response and risk mitigation, in a context where institutional action is key to the well-being of Colombians.
