Capturadas cinco personas en operación liderada por el Ejército contra la extracción ilegal minera en Risaralda.

Con esta operación que integró las capacidades de la Policía, Fiscalía General de la Nación y la Corporación Autónoma Regional de Risaralda se logró una afectación superior a los 360 millones de pesos entre maquinaria y extracción ilegal de oro.

En cumplimiento del Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus, tropas del Batallón de Artillería de Campaña N.° 8 San Mateo, en coordinación con los Carabineros de la Policía Nacional en Risaralda, el Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación, CTI, de la Fiscalía General de la Nación y funcionarios de la Corporación Autónoma Regional de Risaralda, Carder, llegaron hasta la vereda Río Arriba, en el municipio de Mistrató, Risaralda, donde se adelantaban actividades de explotación ilícita de yacimientos mineros.

Para el desarrollo de esta operación coordinada, las autoridades recopilaron información durante varias semanas que permitió establecer la existencia de 10 socavones ubicados en la orilla del río Risaralda, los cuales estaban generando afectaciones a las fuentes hídricas, la flora y la fauna del ecosistema.

En el lugar fueron ubicadas e inutilizadas tres dragas tipo buzo y tres motobombas industriales, avaluadas en aproximadamente 160 millones de pesos. Así mismo, se logró la captura de cinco personas, procedentes de Pereira, Guática y Mistrató, Risaralda; El Bagre, Antioquia, y Cartago, Valle del Cauca.

En este punto, la actividad ilegal permitía la extracción aproximada de 450 gramos de oro mensuales, con un valor estimado superior a los 200 millones de pesos en el mercado, recursos que presuntamente financiaban economías ilícitas.

Estas operaciones adelantadas por las autoridades buscan prevenir y mitigar el fortalecimiento de estructuras ilegales, evitando que consoliden sus finanzas ilícitas, y contribuyendo a la protección del medio ambiente, la seguridad y la estabilidad en la región.

El Batallón de Artillería de Campaña N.° 8 San Mateo, como unidad del Ejército Nacional en el departamento de Risaralda, continúa comprometido con la protección de los recursos naturales, el control de las economías ilícitas y el bienestar de las comunidades.

Five people captured in an operation led by the Army against illegal mining in Risaralda.

This operation, which integrated the capabilities of the Police, the Attorney General’s Office, and the Regional Autonomous Corporation of Risaralda (CARDER), resulted in the seizure of over 360 million pesos worth of machinery and illegal gold extraction.

In compliance with the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops from the 8th San Mateo Field Artillery Battalion, in coordination with the National Police’s Carabineros in Risaralda, the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General’s Office, and officials from CARDER, arrived at the Río Arriba village in the municipality of Mistrató, Risaralda, where illegal mining activities were taking place.

For this coordinated operation, authorities gathered information over several weeks, which allowed them to establish the existence of 10 mine shafts located on the banks of the Risaralda River. These shafts were damaging water sources, flora, and fauna within the ecosystem.

At the site, three diving dredges and three industrial water pumps, valued at approximately 160 million pesos, were located and disabled. Five individuals were also apprehended, originating from Pereira, Guática, and Mistrató, Risaralda; El Bagre, Antioquia; and Cartago, Valle del Cauca.

At this location, the illegal activity allowed for the extraction of approximately 450 grams of gold per month, with an estimated market value exceeding 200 million pesos. These funds were allegedly used to finance illicit activities.

These operations carried out by the authorities aim to prevent and mitigate the strengthening of illegal structures, preventing them from consolidating their illicit finances, and contributing to environmental protection, security, and stability in the region.
