Armada de Colombia inhabilitó nueve dragas usadas para la minería ilegal en la Amazonía Colombiana.

La minería ilegal con dragas causa graves impactos ambientales y sociales, al contaminar ríos con sedimentos y sustancias tóxicas, destruir ecosistemas acuáticos y alterar los cauces naturales.

El material hallado estaría vinculado al Grupo Armado Organizado Residual, Estructura ‘Carolina Ramírez’, organización que sostiene sus actividades ilícitas en esta estratégica zona del territorio nacional.

En el marco de operaciones conjuntas desarrolladas por la Armada de Colombia, el Ejército Nacional y la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana, se logró el hallazgo e inhabilitación de nueve dragas empleadas para la explotación ilícita de yacimientos mineros en los departamentos de Caquetá y Putumayo, como parte de las acciones de seguridad integral fluvial orientadas a la protección del medio ambiente y los recursos naturales de la amazonía.

Las operaciones se adelantaron en ríos y zonas ribereñas de los municipios de Solano y Solita, en el departamento del Caquetá, así como en sectores rurales de Puerto Leguízamo y Puerto Guzmán, en el Putumayo. En estos lugares, unidades de la Brigada de Infantería de Marina No. 3 de la Fuerza Naval de la Amazonía, en coordinación con tropas del Ejército Nacional y capacidades de la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana, localizaron estructuras artesanales tipo draga utilizadas para la extracción ilegal de minerales.

Durante los procedimientos fueron hallados 261 galones de combustible tipo A.C.P.M., además de motores, turboextractores y otros elementos comúnmente empleados en actividades de minería ilegal. De acuerdo con las verificaciones preliminares, este material pertenecería al Grupo Armado Organizado Residual, Estructura “Carolina Ramírez”, organización que financia sus actividades ilícitas mediante la explotación ilegal de los recursos naturales, generando graves afectaciones a los ecosistemas acuáticos, contaminación de las fuentes hídricas y riesgos para la biodiversidad y la salud de las comunidades de la región.

Las dragas y el material encontrado fueron inhabilitados de manera controlada en el lugar de los hechos, conforme a los protocolos establecidos, evitando así un mayor daño ambiental y contribuyendo a la neutralización de esta actividad ilícita en una región estratégica del país.

La Armada de Colombia reafirma su compromiso con la protección del medio ambiente, la defensa de los recursos naturales y la seguridad de las comunidades amazónicas, y continuará desarrollando operaciones conjuntas e interinstitucionales para contrarrestar las economías ilícitas que amenazan la biodiversidad y la estabilidad del territorio nacional.

The Colombian Navy disabled nine dredges used for illegal mining in the Colombian Amazon.

Illegal mining with dredges causes serious environmental and social impacts, contaminating rivers with sediment and toxic substances, destroying aquatic ecosystems, and altering natural waterways.

The equipment found is believed to be linked to the Residual Organized Armed Group, ‘Carolina Ramírez’ Structure, an organization that sustains its illicit activities in this strategic area of ​​the country.

As part of joint operations carried out by the Colombian Navy, the National Army, and the Colombian Aerospace Force, nine dredges used for the illegal exploitation of mineral deposits in the departments of Caquetá and Putumayo were discovered and disabled. These operations are part of comprehensive riverine security efforts aimed at protecting the environment and natural resources of the Amazon.

The operations were carried out in rivers and riverbanks in the municipalities of Solano and Solita, in the department of Caquetá, as well as in rural areas of Puerto Leguízamo and Puerto Guzmán, in Putumayo. In these locations, units of the 3rd Marine Infantry Brigade of the Amazon Naval Force, in coordination with troops from the National Army and with capabilities from the Colombian Aerospace Force, located makeshift dredge-type structures used for the illegal extraction of minerals.

During the operations, 261 gallons of diesel fuel were found, along with engines, turbo extractors, and other equipment commonly used in illegal mining activities. According to preliminary investigations, this material belongs to the Residual Organized Armed Group, “Carolina Ramírez” Structure, an organization that finances its illicit activities through the illegal exploitation of natural resources, causing serious damage to aquatic ecosystems, contaminating water sources, and posing risks to biodiversity and the health of communities in the region.

The dredges and the material found were disabled in a controlled manner at the site, in accordance with established protocols, thus preventing further environmental damage and contributing to the neutralization of this illicit activity in a strategic region of the country.

The Colombian Navy reaffirms its commitment to environmental protection, the defense of natural resources, and the security of Amazonian communities, and will continue to conduct joint and inter-institutional operations to counter the illicit economies that threaten biodiversity and the stability of the national territory.
