Dos integrantes del grupo armado organizado Clan del Golfo neutralizados y un cabecilla capturado tras combates con el Ejército Nacional en Antioquia.

Entre los neutralizados figura el hermano de alias Acacio, quien se desempeñaba como cabecilla del componente urbano de esta estructura criminal y fue capturado el pasado mes de noviembre.

En desarrollo de operaciones militares, tropas del Batallón de Infantería N.° 11 Cacique Nutibara, orgánico de la Cuarta Brigada del Ejército Nacional, sostuvieron un combate de encuentro con presuntos integrantes de la subestructura Edwin Román Velásquez Valle del GAO Clan del Golfo, en la vereda San Peruchito, municipio de Andes, Antioquia.

Como resultado de esta acción militar, se produjo la muerte en desarrollo de operaciones militares de dos sujetos. Así mismo, fue capturado alias Pablo, señalado como cabecilla de zona de esta estructura criminal, quien presentaba orden de captura vigente, al parecer, por el homicidio de un integrante de la Policía Nacional ocurrido el pasado mes de mayo en el municipio de Sopetrán, Antioquia.

Durante el combate, este individuo resultó herido, por lo cual los soldados, en estricto cumplimiento del Derecho Internacional Humanitario, le brindaron primeros auxilios y posteriormente fue remitido a la ciudad de Medellín para recibir atención médica especializada.

En el lugar de los hechos, las tropas incautaron un fusil, dos pistolas, proveedores y abundante munición, material que fue puesto a disposición de las autoridades competentes junto con el capturado, para adelantar los procedimientos judiciales correspondientes.

Con este importante resultado operacional, se logra afectar de manera significativa las capacidades armadas de este grupo criminal e impedir sus planes de expansión, evitando que continúen ejecutando acciones delictivas contra la seguridad de la población civil en el suroeste antioqueño.

El Ejército Nacional de Colombia reafirma su compromiso de continuar desarrollando operaciones militares contundentes, con el fin de proteger a la población civil y debilitar las estructuras de los grupos armados ilegales que afectan la seguridad y tranquilidad de los habitantes de esta región del país.

Two members of the Clan del Golfo organized armed group were neutralized and a leader captured after clashes with the National Army in Antioquia.

During military operations, troops from the 11th Infantry Battalion «Cacique Nutibara,» part of the Fourth Brigade of the National Army, engaged in a firefight with alleged members of the Edwin Román Velásquez Valle substructure of the Clan del Golfo organized armed group in the village of San Peruchito, municipality of Andes, Antioquia.

As a result of this military action, two individuals were killed in the course of military operations. Likewise, alias Pablo, identified as the regional leader of this criminal organization, was captured. He had an outstanding arrest warrant, allegedly for the murder of a National Police officer last May in the municipality of Sopetrán, Antioquia.

During the firefight, this individual was wounded. Soldiers, in strict compliance with International Humanitarian Law, provided him with first aid, and he was subsequently transferred to the city of Medellín for specialized medical care.

At the scene, troops seized a rifle, two pistols, magazines, and a large quantity of ammunition. This material, along with the captured individual, was turned over to the appropriate authorities for further legal proceedings.

This significant operational result significantly impacts the armed capabilities of this criminal group and thwarts its expansion plans, preventing it from continuing to carry out criminal activities against the security of the civilian population in southwestern Antioquia.

The Colombian National Army reaffirms its commitment to continue conducting decisive military operations to protect the civilian population and weaken the structures of illegal armed groups that threaten the security and peace of the inhabitants of this region of the country.
