Una noticia decembrina que renueva la esperanza y el progreso para los vallecaucanos.

04 December 2025 09:26 AMJamundí recibe un importante regalo de fin de año: la declaración de su Zona 1 como libre de sospecha de artefactos explosivos, un hito que fortalece la seguridad, la confianza y el futuro turístico y comunitario del municipio.
Gracias a los estudios no técnicos desarrollados por el Batallón de Ingenieros de Desminado Humanitario N.° 6, se logró verificar y descartar la presencia de artefactos explosivos en sectores que históricamente habían sido señalados como áreas de riesgo. 

En total, 14 eventos reportados fueron desvirtuados en los corregimientos Quinamayo, Villa Paz, La Aventura, Bocas del Palo, Paso de la Bolsa, Peón–RNSC Reserva Miravalle, así como en la zona urbana de Jamundí.

El teniente coronel Diego Alexánder Cabrera Alba, comandante del Batallón de Ingenieros de Desminado Humanitario N.° 6, destacó la trascendencia de este logro: «Hoy hacemos entrega de la Zona 1 del municipio de Jamundí, conformada por seis corregimientos y su área urbana. Con este trabajo reafirmamos nuestro compromiso con Colombia, con el Valle del Cauca y con Jamundí. Nuestro propósito es generar confianza, aportar al progreso y devolver la esperanza a este bello municipio y a todo el país». 

Como parte del proceso, los promotores de educación en el riesgo de artefactos explosivos capacitaron a más de 4600 jamundeños, fortaleciendo la prevención y el autocuidado en la comunidad.

Carolina Obando, secretaria de Seguridad y Convivencia, celebró este logro: «Se ha culminado la intervención de desminado humanitario en la Zona 1. Agradecemos profundamente al Batallón de Desminado Humanitario N.º 6 por su incansable esfuerzo. Esta entrega significa protección, tranquilidad y la posibilidad de seguir construyendo un municipio más seguro».Con esta entrega, Jamundí abre las puertas a un nuevo capítulo: uno donde la seguridad impulsa el turismo, la inversión y el desarrollo social. Los corredores rurales, las reservas naturales y la riqueza cultural del municipio podrán ser disfrutados con mayor tranquilidad, potenciando el crecimiento económico y comunitario.

La personería municipal también exaltó la labor del equipo de desminado: «Hoy estamos felices y agradecidos con el Ejército y con el equipo de desminado humanitario. Gracias a ellos, Quinamayo, Villa Paz, Bocas del Palo, Paso de la Bolsa y Miravalle son territorios libres de sospecha de artefactos explosivos. Nuestra comunidad podrá caminar segura y retomar sus proyectos de vida. Que Dios bendiga esta labor», expresó Martha Isabel Gutiérrez Segura, personera.

En este cierre de año, Jamundí recibe un mensaje de esperanza: un territorio que avanza, que sana y que se proyecta como un destino seguro para vivir y visitar.

Jamundí receives an important end-of-year gift: the declaration of its Zone 1 as free of suspected explosive devices, a milestone that strengthens security, confidence, and the future of tourism and community development in the municipality.

Thanks to non-technical studies carried out by the 6th Humanitarian Demining Engineer Battalion, the presence of explosive devices was verified and ruled out in areas that had historically been identified as high-risk zones.

In total, 14 reported incidents were resolved in the townships of Quinamayo, Villa Paz, La Aventura, Bocas del Palo, Paso de la Bolsa, Peón–RNSC Reserva Miravalle, as well as in the urban area of ​​Jamundí.

Lieutenant Colonel Diego Alexander Cabrera Alba, commander of the 6th Humanitarian Demining Engineer Battalion, highlighted the significance of this achievement: “Today we are handing over Zone 1 of the municipality of Jamundí, comprised of six townships and its urban area. With this work, we reaffirm our commitment to Colombia, to Valle del Cauca, and to Jamundí. Our purpose is to build trust, contribute to progress, and restore hope to this beautiful municipality and to the entire country.”

As part of the process, explosive device risk education promoters trained more than 4,600 residents of Jamundí, strengthening prevention and self-care within the community.

Carolina Obando, Secretary of Security and Coexistence, celebrated this achievement: “The humanitarian demining operation in Zone 1 has been completed. We are deeply grateful to the 6th Humanitarian Demining Battalion for their tireless efforts. This handover means protection, peace of mind, and the possibility of continuing to build a safer municipality.” With this handover, Jamundí opens the door to a new chapter: one where security drives tourism, investment, and social development. The rural corridors, nature reserves, and cultural richness of the municipality can be enjoyed with greater peace of mind, boosting economic and community growth.

The municipal ombudsman also praised the work of the demining team: “Today we are happy and grateful to the Army and the humanitarian demining team. Thanks to them, Quinamayo, Villa Paz, Bocas del Palo, Paso de la Bolsa, and Miravalle are territories free of suspected explosive devices. Our community can walk safely and resume their life projects.” “May God bless this work,” said Martha Isabel Gutiérrez Segura, the ombudsperson.

As this year draws to a close, Jamundí receives a message of hope: a territory that is moving forward, healing, and projecting itself as a safe destination to live in and visit.
