Neutralizadas las intenciones criminales del GAO Clan del Golfo en el Magdalena Medio.

En el marco del Plan Ayacucho Plus, se logró la incautación de abundante material de guerra, intendencia y equipos de comunicaciones, con los cuales se pretendían adelantar acciones terroristas en el sur de Bolívar, en medio de las confrontaciones con otros grupos armados.

Tropas de la Fuerza de Despliegue Rápido N.º 3, de la Segunda División del Ejército Nacional, en trabajo conjunto con la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana, coordinado con la Policía Nacional y gracias a labores de inteligencia, desarrollaron una operación de allanamiento y registro en zona rural del municipio de San Pablo, sur de Bolívar. 

En el lugar fue encontrado un importante material de guerra, intendencia, comunicaciones y documentos de inteligencia, pertenecientes al GAO Clan del Golfo, que presuntamente sería trasladado desde Santander hacia el sur de Bolívar para fortalecer sus estructuras armadas, actualmente en confrontación con el GAO-ELN en esta región del país.

Durante la operación se incautó un fusil M16, múltiples cargadores, más de 360 cartuchos de diferentes calibres, material de uso privativo de las Fuerzas Militares, radios de comunicación y otros elementos que evidencian la capacidad criminal con la que este grupo armado organizado continúa afectando a la población mediante secuestros, extorsiones, homicidios y ataques contra la Fuerza Pública.

Este resultado operacional golpea de manera contundente la estructura armada del Clan del Golfo y neutraliza sus pretensiones de expansión y control territorial, reduciendo así el riesgo sobre las comunidades del sur de Bolívar y el Magdalena Medio.

El Ejército Nacional reafirma su compromiso firme e indeclinable de desarticular las estructuras criminales que amenazan la seguridad e integridad de las familias colombianas. Continuaremos ejecutando operaciones estratégicas que permitan anticipar, neutralizar y desmantelar las intenciones delictivas de los grupos armados que operan en la región.

Troops from Rapid Deployment Force No. 3, of the Second Division of the National Army, working jointly with the Colombian Aerospace Force, coordinated with the National Police, and thanks to intelligence work, carried out a search and seizure operation in a rural area of ​​the municipality of San Pablo, southern Bolívar.

At the site, authorities found a significant cache of weapons, supplies, communications equipment, and intelligence documents belonging to the Clan del Golfo Organized Armed Group (GAO Clan del Golfo). This material was allegedly being transported from Santander to southern Bolívar to bolster their armed forces, which are currently engaged in conflict with the ELN (National Liberation Army) in this region of the country.

During the operation, authorities seized an M16 rifle, multiple magazines, more than 360 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, equipment restricted to military use, communication radios, and other items that demonstrate the criminal capacity with which this organized armed group continues to harm the population through kidnappings, extortion, homicides, and attacks against the security forces.

This operational result deals a decisive blow to the Clan del Golfo’s armed structure and neutralizes its ambitions for expansion and territorial control, thus reducing the risk to communities in southern Bolívar and the Middle Magdalena region.

The National Army reaffirms its firm and unwavering commitment to dismantling the criminal structures that threaten the safety and well-being of Colombian families. We will continue to carry out strategic operations to anticipate, neutralize, and dismantle the criminal intentions of armed groups operating in the region.
