Viernes 28 de noviembre 2025 – Día de No Comprar Nada (BND Buy Nothing Day).
El último viernes de noviembre se celebra el Día Mundial Sin Compras. Por sus siglas en inglés BND, Buy Nothing Day es una jornada mundial de protestas en la que se invita a toda la población a no consumir nada con la finalidad de denunciar el actual modelo de producción y consumo y promover formas de consumo alternativo. Coincide precisamente con el Black Friday, uno de los días de más consumo del año. En los últimos años, también se han unido activistas del movimiento ecologista, bajo la máxima de que el problema medioambiental proviene del consumismo exacerbado.
El Día Sin Compras fue fundado por el artista de Vancouver Ted Dave y posteriormente promovido por la revista canadiense Adbusters. Los participantes de este movimiento se abstienen de comprar cualquier cosa durante 24 horas como una exhibición concentrada del poder del consumidor.
El Día Mundial Sin Compras se celebró por primera vez en Vancouver, Canadá en septiembre de 1992, pero en 1997 fue trasladado al día después de Acción de Gracias en Estados Unidos y Canadá y al día siguiente en el resto del mundo, como un llamamiento contra el consumismo de la época pre navideña.

MINICUENTO 2028 – RUDAFRA. “LUCIO ENRIQUE BENAVIDES ROSERO, CON AÑORANZAS MUSICALES”
Sus primeros pasos en la radio se dieron lejos del Eje Cafetero, en la vibrante Pasto. Su voz encontró su primer eco en La Voz de la Amistad y luego en Radio Nariño. En aquellos años fundacionales, el micrófono no era libre; para trabajar, era indispensable la Licencia del Ministerio de Correos y Telégrafos.
Decidido a formalizar mi vocación, viajó a Bogotá. Se matriculó en la «Academia Radial» del maestro Manuel Cabral Jiménez y, para foguearse, colaboró en la Emisora Mil 20, dirigida en ese tiempo por don Luis Cuervo. Simultáneamente, se integró al colegio San José de Soacha para obtener, finalmente, el diploma de bachiller.
El año 1959 fue crucial: se presenté a los rigurosos exámenes del Ministerio, junto a aspirantes de todo el país, y obtuvo la Licencia de Locutor profesional No. 018000-. Con este pasaporte en mano, regresó al puerto nariñense para ser director de Radio Tumaco durante dos años.
Motivos personales lo obligaron a volver a Cali. Pero antes de establecer su regreso, una visita casual a Pereira con un amigo para ver a un pariente cambió su destino. El encuentro fortuito con un promotor musical de Discos Fuentes le dio un dato que sonó como un anuncio en la radio: La Voz Amiga necesitaba un locutor. Era un viernes a las 11 de la mañana. Dos horas después, la curiosidad lo llevó a la emisora. Lo recibió su director, don Falminio Anzola, y la magia de la radio operó instantáneamente: en ese mismo día, firmó contrato para empezar a trabajar a las seis de la tarde.
En el comienzo de la década de los sesenta, La Voz Amiga era un faro cultural, reconocida internacionalmente por su Onda Corta que se escuchaba en todo el mundo. Su calidad se debía a la dirección magistral de don Óscar Giraldo Arango, creador de inolvidables radioteatros, programas románticos con poesía y aquellos aterradores shows nocturnos, con efectos de sonido de su invención.
Su camino lo llevó a Manizales en 1957, donde trabajó en Radio Reloj de Caracol junto a Augusto Salazar Urrea y Francisco Muñoz, hasta 1973. Ese mismo año, Radio Cadena Nacional (RCN) compra La Voz Amiga, y fue el pretexto perfecto para regresar a Pereira e integrarse de nuevo al dial. Comenzó como locutor, fue ascendiendo a Jefe de Pautas, y luego programador, hasta que llegó el momento de su merecida pensión por el Seguro Social. No obstante, la radio era su aire. Tras un breve receso, volvió a La Voz Amiga con la joya de su carrera: “Añoranzas Musicales”, fundado en 1975.
Su inquietud cultural lo llevó más allá del micrófono. En 1980 fundó la Revista Farandulera “La Bocina”. Fue gracias a esta revista que logró realizarle una entrevista con el poeta Luis Carlos González. Fue un honor, pues es la única entrevista que el maestro concedió a un medio de comunicación.
Su programa “Añoranzas Musicales” no fue solo música; fue investigación. Guardó meticulosamente todas las entrevistas y el material histórico sobre el Páramo y El Sestiadero, cuna del bambuco pereirano y cuna del poeta. Con ese material, escribió el libro “Añoranzas Musicales”, una pulcra historia cultural de Pereira, recordando a figuras como Don Ricardo Illián Botero, Óscar Giraldo Arango, y Eleázar Orrego Montoya. El libro fue editado gracias a la gestión del Gobernador Víctor Manuel Tamayo Vargas.
Su gran orgullo, es el reconocimiento de la Fundación Luis Carlos González, que le otorgó “La Ruana Blanca” por su aporte al recuerdo y promoción de la obra del poeta.
Hoy, a los 96 años de edad, sigue activo en la radio, en la Emisora Remigio Antonio Cañarte con “Añoranzas Musicales”.
Lucio Enrique Benavides Rosero, es el locutor de mayor edad en Colombia (96 años); y, con voz firme, dice: “Mi vida es un eco continuo de la música, la historia y la gratitud”.

The last Friday of November is Buy Nothing Day. BND is a global day of protest in which everyone is invited to refrain from consuming anything in order to denounce the current model of production and consumption and promote alternative forms of consumption. It coincides with Black Friday, one of the biggest shopping days of the year. In recent years, environmental activists have also joined the movement, based on the premise that the environmental problem stems from rampant consumerism.

Buy Nothing Day was founded by Vancouver artist Ted Dave and later promoted by the Canadian magazine Adbusters. Participants in this movement abstain from buying anything for 24 hours as a concentrated demonstration of consumer power.

World Buy Nothing Day was first celebrated in Vancouver, Canada in September 1992, but in 1997 it was moved to the day after Thanksgiving in the United States and Canada and the following day in the rest of the world, as a call against pre-Christmas consumerism.

MINI-STORY 2028 – RUDAFRA. “LUCIO ENRIQUE BENAVIDES ROSERO, WITH MUSICAL NOSTALGIA”
His first steps in radio were taken far from the Coffee Region, in the vibrant city of Pasto. His voice found its first echo on La Voz de la Amistad (The Voice of Friendship) and later on Radio Nariño. In those early years, the microphone was not free; To work, a license from the Ministry of Posts and Telegraphs was essential.

Determined to formalize his vocation, he traveled to Bogotá. He enrolled in the «Radio Academy» of Manuel Cabral Jiménez and, to gain experience, collaborated with Radio Station Mil 20, directed at that time by Luis Cuervo. Simultaneously, he enrolled at San José School in Soacha, eventually obtaining his high school diploma.

The year 1959 was crucial: he took the Ministry’s rigorous exams, along with applicants from all over the country, and obtained Professional Broadcaster License No. 018000. With this license in hand, he returned to the port city of Tumaco to serve as director of Radio Tumaco for two years.
Personal reasons forced him to return to Cali. But before finalizing his return, a chance visit to Pereira with a friend to see a relative changed his destiny. A chance encounter with a music promoter from Discos Fuentes led him to a tip that sounded like a radio announcement: La Voz Amiga needed an announcer. It was a Friday at 11:00 a.m. Two hours later, curiosity led him to the station. He was received by its director, Don Falminio Anzola, and the magic of radio worked instantly: that very day, he signed a contract to start working at 6:00 p.m.

At the beginning of the 1960s, La Voz Amiga was a cultural beacon, internationally recognized for its shortwave broadcast, which could be heard all over the world. Its quality was due to the masterful direction of Don Óscar Giraldo Arango, creator of unforgettable radio dramas, romantic programs with poetry, and those terrifying late-night shows with sound effects of his own invention.

His path led him to Manizales in 1957, where he worked at Radio Reloj de Caracol alongside Augusto Salazar Urrea and Francisco Muñoz until 1973. That same year, Radio Cadena Nacional (RCN) acquired La Voz Amiga, providing the perfect opportunity to return to Pereira and rejoin the airwaves. He began as an announcer, rising to Head of Programming, and then programmer, until he reached his well-deserved retirement from Social Security. However, radio was his lifeblood. After a brief hiatus, he returned to La Voz Amiga with the crown jewel of his career: “Añoranzas Musicales” (Musical Nostalgia), founded in 1975. His cultural curiosity extended beyond the microphone. In 1980, he founded the entertainment magazine “La Bocina” (The Horn). It was thanks to this magazine that he managed to interview the poet Luis Carlos González. It was an honor, as it is the only interview the maestro granted to any media outlet.

His program “Musical Nostalgia” was not just about music; it was also about research. He meticulously preserved all the interviews and historical material about the Páramo and El Sestiadero, the birthplace of the Pereira bambuco and the birthplace of the poet. With this material, he wrote the book “Musical Nostalgia,” a polished cultural history of Pereira, remembering figures such as Don Ricardo Illián Botero, Óscar Giraldo Arango, and Eleázar Orrego Montoya. The book was published thanks to the efforts of Governor Víctor Manuel Tamayo Vargas.
His greatest pride is the recognition from the Luis Carlos González Foundation, which awarded him “La Ruana Blanca” for his contribution to remembering and promoting the poet’s work.

Today, at 96 years old, he remains active in radio, hosting “Musical Nostalgia” on Radio Remigio Antonio Cañarte.
