El Ejército Nacional halló zona campamentaria y depósito ilegal en el departamento de Risaralda.

En zona rural del municipio de Mistrató se halló esta zona, la cual al parecer iba a ser utilizada por integrantes del grupo armado organizado Clan del Golfo en el departamento.

En cumplimiento del Plan Ayacucho Plus, tropas terrestres del Batallón de Artillería de Campaña N.° 8 San Mateo llegaron hasta una zona apartada en la vereda La María, de este municipio del occidente de Risaralda, con orden clara de registrar el terreno.

Los soldados, durante el reconocimiento, ubicaron una zona que estaba adecuada para el campamento de tropas, la cual, a su vez, tenía escondido un depósito ilegal con material de guerra, material de intendencia y equipos de comunicaciones, entre otros elementos, para coordinar la llegada de más integrantes de esta organización a la región.

Se encontraron tres cartuchos para arma larga, equipos de campaña pixelados, camuflados, buzos tácticos, cascos multimisión, botas de combate, carpas, gafas, brazaletes alusivos al grupo armado organizado Clan del Golfo, dos microteléfonos, un radio, baterías alcalinas, diferentes medicamentos, ropa civil, cobijas y útiles de aseo, que iban a ser utilizados por integrantes de este grupo armado organizado.

Los elementos pertenecerían a la Subestructura Edwin Román Velásquez Valle, y estaban escondidos por el componente criminal focalizado. Este hallazgo representa un golpe a la logística, y afecta las intenciones expansionistas de esta organización criminal en todos los municipios del departamento de Risaralda.

El Ejército Nacional, a través de la Octava Brigada y sus batallones, continúa comprometido en fortalecer la seguridad y debilitar la amenaza en los departamentos de Risaralda, Caldas y Quindío.

In compliance with Plan Ayacucho Plus, ground troops from the 8th Field Artillery Battalion, San Mateo, arrived at a remote area in the village of La María, in this municipality in western Risaralda, with clear orders to search the area.

During the reconnaissance, the soldiers located an area suitable for a troop camp, which, in turn, contained an illegal storage area containing war material, quartermaster supplies, and communications equipment, among other items, to coordinate the arrival of more members of this organization to the region.

Three long-gun cartridges, pixelated camouflage field gear, tactical overalls, multi-mission helmets, combat boots, tents, goggles, armbands alluding to the organized armed group Clan del Golfo, two telephone handsets, a radio, alkaline batteries, various medications, civilian clothing, blankets, and toiletries were found, all of which were intended to be used by members of this organized armed group.

The items allegedly belonged to the Edwin Román Velásquez Valle substructure and were hidden by the targeted criminal component. This discovery represents a blow to logistics and affects the expansionist intentions of this criminal organization in all municipalities of the department of Risaralda.

The National Army, through the Eighth Brigade and its battalions, remains committed to strengthening security and weakening the threat in the departments of Risaralda, Caldas, and Quindío.
