Ejército Nacional captura a cuatro sujetos por explotación ilegal de material de arrastre en Suárez, Tolima.

5400 toneladas de material de arrastre al mes extraían en zona rural de este municipio del centro del Tolima.

Hasta la vereda Batas, del municipio de Suárez, llegaron soldados del Batallón de Infantería N.º 18 Coronel Jaime Rooke, de la Sexta Brigada, en coordinación con la Policía Nacional, Cortolima y el Comando Aéreo de Combate N.º 4. Allí, en flagrancia, se logró la captura de cuatro sujetos por explotacion ilícita de yacimientos mineros.

Al momento de verificar los permisos correspondientes para la extracción de material de arrastre, estos no contaban con la documentación pertinente, es así como se logran estas capturas con la incautación de una retroexcavadora y una excavadora que tienen un valor comercial cercano a los 680 millones de pesos. Además, se estima que la exploración del material tenía un valor comercial de 464 millones de pesos. 

En la investigación, al parecer esta venta estaría dejando ingresos a la delincuencia común por más de 46 millones de pesos mensuales.

Estas personas quedaron a disposición de la autoridad competente por el delito de explotacion ilícita de yacimientos mineros y otros materiales.

Este resultado operacional de los soldados de la Sexta Brigada no solo contribuye a afectar las economías ilícitas, sino que deja en evidencia el daño ambiental; se requerirán cerca de 30 años para la recuperación de este ecosistema.

Soldiers from the 18th Infantry Battalion, Colonel Jaime Rooke, of the Sixth Brigade, arrived in the village of Batas, in the municipality of Suárez, in coordination with the National Police, Cortolima, and the 4th Air Combat Command. There, four individuals were arrested in flagrante delicto for illegal mining deposits.

When the corresponding permits for the extraction of scrap metal were verified, they lacked the necessary documentation. This led to these arrests, with the seizure of a backhoe and an excavator with a market value of approximately 680 million pesos. Furthermore, it is estimated that the exploration of the material had a market value of 464 million pesos.

The investigation appears to have revealed that this sale generated revenue for common criminals of more than 46 million pesos per month.

These individuals were brought before the competent authority for the crime of illegal exploitation of mining deposits and other materials.

This operational result of the Sixth Brigade soldiers not only contributes to the impact on illicit economies but also highlights the environmental damage; it will take nearly 30 years for this ecosystem to recover.
