Operación interinstitucional y coordinada permite captura de alias Mundo Malo por homicidio agravado

El sujeto pretendía evadir a las autoridades ocultándose en zona rural de Algeciras, Huila.

En una operación coordinada entre tropas del Batallón de Alta Montaña N.° 9, de la Novena Brigada; el Cuerpo Técnico de Investigación (CTI), de la Fiscalía General de la Nación, y la Sijín, de la Policía Metropolitana de Neiva, fue capturado un hombre de 25 años de edad, sindicado de participar en el homicidio de una mujer ocurrido en mayo de 2025, en el barrio Emaya, oriente de Neiva.

La víctima, una joven universitaria de 24 años, perdió la vida tras recibir varios impactos de arma de fuego frente a una vivienda del sector. En el ataque también resultó herida otra persona. De acuerdo con testimonios de la comunidad, los agresores se movilizaban en motocicleta y dispararon de manera indiscriminada.

Las investigaciones adelantadas por el Grupo Vida del CTI permitieron establecer la presunta responsabilidad de Arenas Orjuela, alias Mundo Malo, quien ya registraba antecedentes judiciales por hurto calificado. 

Con base en información de la Red de Participación Cívica, interceptaciones autorizadas y labores de inteligencia, se logró su ubicación en la vereda Los Guayabos, municipio de Algeciras, donde permanecía oculto para evadir a la justicia.

En el lugar, las unidades confirmaron su identidad y materializaron la orden judicial en su contra por los delitos de homicidio agravado, fabricación, tráfico y porte ilegal de armas de fuego, y lesiones personales dolosas.

Este resultado constituye un avance significativo en la lucha contra la criminalidad en el departamento del Huila, reafirmando el compromiso de las Fuerzas Militares, la Fiscalía General de la Nación y la Policía Nacional con la justicia, la seguridad ciudadana y la protección de la vida.

Coordinated inter-institutional operation leads to the arrest of alias Mundo Malo for aggravated homicide

The suspect was attempting to evade authorities by hiding in a rural area of Algeciras, Huila.

In a coordinated operation between troops from the 9th High Mountain Battalion of the Ninth Brigade; the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) of the Attorney General’s Office; and the Sijín (National Police Force) of the Neiva Metropolitan Police, a 25-year-old man was arrested, accused of participating in the murder of a woman that occurred in May 2025 in the Emaya neighborhood, eastern Neiva.

The victim, a 24-year-old university student, died after being shot several times in front of a home in the area. Another person was also injured in the attack. According to community accounts, the attackers were traveling on motorcycles and fired indiscriminately.

Investigations conducted by the CTI’s Life Group established the alleged responsibility of Arenas Orjuela, alias Mundo Malo, who already had a criminal record for aggravated theft.

Based on information from the Civic Participation Network, authorized interceptions, and intelligence work, he was located in the Los Guayabos area of Algeciras, where he was hiding to evade justice.

At the scene, units confirmed his identity and executed the warrant for him for the crimes of aggravated homicide, manufacturing, trafficking, and illegal possession of firearms, and intentional personal injury.

This result constitutes a significant advance in the fight against crime in the department of Huila, reaffirming the commitment of the Armed Forces, the Attorney General’s Office, and the National Police to justice, citizen security, and the protection of life.
