Los zurdos también tienen su Día Internacional de la Zurdera, que es una jornada internacional promovida por la Internacional de Zurdos (Lefthanders International). Tiene lugar, el 13 de agosto de cada año desde 1976, y pretende dar a conocer y ayudar a reducir las dificultades que encuentran las personas zurdas en una sociedad predominantemente diestra. Algunas de estas dificultades son tener que usar herramientas pensadas para diestros, como las tijeras, los cuadernos en espiral, las sillas o bancas para escribir.
Existen múltiples rumores infundados y para nada demostrados sobre los zurdos, como que son más inteligentes, que viven menos, que duermen peor, etc. Son mitos. que estaban relacionados con el hecho de que ser zurdo era ser diferente; y la diferencia, ya sabemos, que en muchos casos es castigada injustamente en la sociedad.

Left-handers also have their International Left-Handers Day, an international event promoted by Lefthanders International. It takes place on August 13th every year since 1976 and aims to raise awareness and help reduce the difficulties faced by left-handed people in a predominantly right-handed society. Some of these difficulties include having to use tools designed for right-handed people, such as scissors, spiral notebooks, chairs, or writing benches.
There are many unfounded and completely unproven rumors about left-handed people, such as that they are smarter, that they live shorter lives, that they sleep worse, etc. These are myths, all of which were related to the fact that being left-handed meant being different; and difference, as we know, is often unfairly punished in society.
