Ejército Nacional logró el sometimiento a la justicia de un miembro del Clan del Golfo y la desmovilización de un miembro del ELN en Risaralda.

El aumento del pie de fuerza y el desarrollo de las operaciones en los municipios del occidente del departamento de Risaralda por parte del Batallón de Artillería de Campaña N.° 8 San Mateo han permitido afectar las estructuras armadas de los grupos armados organizados (GAO).

Bajo el Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus y gracias a la presencia de soldados en los municipios de Pueblo Rico, Mistrató y Belén de Umbría, se logró el sometimiento a la justicia de un individuo perteneciente al GAO Clan del Golfo y la desmovilización de otro sujeto perteneciente al GAO ELN.

En la vía que comunica al corregimiento de San Antonio del Chamí con el casco urbano de Pueblo Rico, cuando unidades motorizadas del Batallón San Mateo realizaban tareas de estabilidad, se acercó a ellos un hombre conocido con el alias de Luis T., que manifestó hacer parte del componente criminal focalizado del GAO Clan del Golfo y querer someterse a la justicia por voluntad propia.

Según las primeras pesquisas, esta persona se movilizaba vestido de civil por las zonas rurales y semiurbanas, controlando la movilidad de las vías terciarias del municipio y avisando a la estructura principal sobre los movimientos de la Fuerza Pública, así como de los propios de la zona, con el fin primordial de fortalecer sus economías ilícitas y tomar control de la explotación ilícita de yacimiento mineros para expandir sus acciones criminales.

Así mismo, un hombre conocido como alias Niche, se trasladó desde el occidente del departamento hasta la capital risaraldense en busca de los soldados del Batallón de Artillería, para desmovilizarse; este sujeto quien manifestó ser parte de la Red de Apoyo al Terrorismo (RAT) del ELN confesó haber estado durante más de un año sirviendo a esta grupo.

El sometimiento y la desmovilización de estas personas representan para el departamento de Risaralda un paso grande en la lucha contra las estructuras armadas, así como la adquisición de información clave para continuar las operaciones en el territorio en contra de estas amenazas. 

El Ejército Nacional, a través de su Batallón San Mateo, continúa comprometido con la seguridad de los catorce municipios risaraldenses.

Under the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, and thanks to the presence of soldiers in the municipalities of Pueblo Rico, Mistrató, and Belén de Umbría, an individual belonging to the Clan del Golfo GAO was successfully brought to justice and another individual belonging to the ELN GAO was demobilized.

On the road connecting the town of San Antonio del Chamí with the urban area of Pueblo Rico, while motorized units of the San Mateo Battalion were carrying out security tasks, they were approached by a man known as Luis T., who claimed to be part of the targeted criminal component of the GAO Clan del Golfo and wanted to submit to justice of his own free will.

According to initial investigations, this individual traveled in civilian clothes through rural and semi-urban areas, controlling traffic on the municipality’s tertiary roads and alerting the main structure about the movements of the Public Force, as well as those of the area itself, with the primary goal of strengthening his illicit economies and taking control of the illicit exploitation of mining deposits to expand his criminal activities.

Likewise, a man known as Niche traveled from the west of the department to the capital of Risaralda in search of soldiers from the Artillery Battalion to demobilize. This individual, who claimed to be part of the ELN’s Terrorist Support Network (RAT), confessed to having served this group for over a year.

The surrender and demobilization of these individuals represents a major step forward for the department of Risaralda in the fight against armed groups, as well as the acquisition of key information to continue operations in the region against these threats.

The National Army, through its San Mateo Battalion, remains committed to the security of the fourteen municipalities of Risaralda.
