Con la formalización de más de 23.000 hectáreas de tierra en el Meta avanza la Reforma Agraria, impulsada por el Gobierno del presidente Gustavo Petro.​​

“Estas manos campesinas seguirán alimentando a Colombia, sembrando dignidad en una de las tierras más fértiles del Meta”, afirmó el director de la Agencia Nacional de Tierras (ANT), Felipe Harman, al momento de entregar títulos de propiedad de 23.603 hectáreas de tierra fértil a 500 familias de los municipios de La Macarena y Puerto Lleras.

“Un territorio marcado por el conflicto demuestra que la tierra puede ser un camino de paz y justicia social. Hoy ustedes salen de esta reunión como propietarios de su finca y de su tierra. Se acabó la incertidumbre”, aseveró Harman. 

La formalización de 6.094 hectáreas, que corresponden a 286 títulos en Puerto Lleras, hace parte del trabajo conjunto entre la ANT y la Agencia de Estados Unidos para el Desarrollo Internacional (Usaid), a través de la realización de un barrido predial y catastral multipropósito que permitió legalizar y formalizar terrenos.

Los 214 títulos entregados a campesinas y campesinos de La Macarena, que corresponden a 17.509 hectáreas, son una reivindicación a familias que en su mayoría llegaron a la zona por cuenta del desplazamiento al que los obligó el conflicto armado, formando sus respectivos hogares en medio de las montañas y la majestuosidad de la naturaleza.

Harman atribuyó la formalización de esos predios a los avances de la Reforma Agraria impulsada por el Gobierno del presidente Gustavo Petro, que busca no solo entregarles tierras a campesinas y campesinos para que la trabajen, sino también garantizarles seguridad jurídica a quienes por años las han poseído de manera informal.

“Nadie les puede decir que no son los dueños de la tierra, se llevan a su casa los actos administrativos inscritos ante la Superintendencia de Notariado y Registro. Llénense de orgullo porque valió la pena trabajar honradamente por el campo de este país”, dijo Harman a las familias beneficiadas.

Norberto Vargas Santamaría, quien recibió su título de propiedad, aseguró: “Esperé alrededor de 35 años, pasé estos papeles en muchas ocasiones, pero por negligencia de gobiernos anteriores no se había logrado. Me siento feliz de saber que la tierra con la que pude darles estudio a mis hijos, podrá pasar a sus manos: son ellos los verdaderos propietarios”.

El Gobierno del presidente Gustavo Petro Urrego ha titulado más de 1.500.000 hectáreas de tierra a campesinos y pueblos étnicos. A esto se suman las cifras referentes a la formalización y entrega de tierras a campesinos y etnias. En lo corrido de estos dos años y medio, el Gobierno ha entregado cerca de 569.000 hectáreas de tierra fértil.

«These peasant hands will continue to feed Colombia, sowing dignity in one of the most fertile lands in Meta,» said Felipe Harman, director of the National Land Agency (ANT), upon delivering property titles to 23,603 hectares of fertile land to 500 families in the municipalities of La Macarena and Puerto Lleras.

“A territory marked by conflict demonstrates that land can be a path to peace and social justice. Today, you leave this meeting as owners of your farm and your land. The uncertainty is over,” Harman asserted.

The formalization of 6,094 hectares, corresponding to 286 titles in Puerto Lleras, is part of the joint work between the ANT and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), through a multipurpose property and cadastral survey that allowed for the legalization and formalization of land.

The 214 titles awarded to farmers in La Macarena, corresponding to 17,509 hectares, are a vindication of families who, for the most part, arrived in the area due to the displacement forced upon them by the armed conflict, making their respective homes amidst the mountains and the majesty of nature.

Harman attributed the formalization of these properties to the progress of the Agrarian Reform promoted by President Gustavo Petro’s government, which seeks not only to provide land to farmers to work, but also to guarantee legal security to those who have owned it informally for years.

“No one can tell you that you are not the owners of the land; you take home the administrative documents registered with the Superintendency of Notaries and Registry. Be proud because it was worth it to work honestly for the countryside of this country,” Harman told the beneficiary families.

Norberto Vargas Santamaría, who received his property title, stated: “I waited around 35 years, and I submitted these paperwork many times, but due to the negligence of previous governments, it was not possible. I am happy to know that the land with which I was able to educate my children can pass into your hands: you are the true owners.”

The government of President Gustavo Petro Urrego has granted titles to more than 1,500,000 hectares of land to peasants and ethnic groups. Added to this are figures regarding the formalization and distribution of land to peasants and ethnic groups. Over the past two and a half years, the government has granted nearly 569,000 hectares of fertile land.
