30 kilos de explosivos del GAO-r Frente Joaquín González fueron ubicados por el Ejército Nacional en Playa Rica, Tolima.

La ubicación de este depósito ilegal evitó un posible atentado terrorista en el suroccidente del departamento del Tolima. 

22 December 2025 08:38 AMGracias a labores de inteligencia militar, tropas del Batallón de Infantería N.° 18 Coronel Jaime Rooke, orgánico de la Sexta Brigada del Ejército Nacional, en coordinación con la Policía Nacional, lograron la ubicación de un depósito ilegal de explosivos perteneciente al grupo armado organizado residual (GAO-r) Frente Joaquín González, estructura disidente bajo el mando de alias Calarcá.

La operación se desarrolló en la vereda Tolda Blanca, corregimiento de Playarrica, jurisdicción del municipio de San Antonio, Tolima, donde fueron hallados aproximadamente 30 kilogramos de explosivos, los cuales, según información de inteligencia, serían utilizados para la ejecución de un atentado terrorista en esta zona del departamento.

En el lugar también fueron encontrados dos uniformes similares a los utilizados por la Policía Nacional, panfletos alusivos al Frente Joaquín González y una batería de motocicleta, elementos que evidencian la intención criminal de esta estructura ilegal.

El material explosivo fue destruido de manera controlada por el grupo antiexplosivos de la Policía Nacional, mientras que los demás elementos incautados quedaron a disposición de la autoridad competente para los procedimientos judiciales correspondientes.

De acuerdo con las valoraciones técnicas, la capacidad de afectación del explosivo habría generado un radio de destrucción aproximado de 40 metros, poniendo en grave riesgo a la población civil y a la infraestructura de la región.

El Ejército Nacional reitera su compromiso con la protección de la población civil y la neutralización de amenazas terroristas, e invita a la ciudadanía del Tolima a denunciar cualquier situación sospechosa a través de la línea antiterrorismo 107.

Thanks to military intelligence work, troops from the 18th Infantry Battalion, Colonel Jaime Rooke, part of the Sixth Brigade of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police, located an illegal explosives cache belonging to the residual organized armed group (GAO-r) Joaquín González Front, a dissident structure under the command of alias Calarcá.

The operation took place in the Tolda Blanca village, part of the Playarrica district, within the municipality of San Antonio, Tolima, where approximately 30 kilograms of explosives were found. According to intelligence reports, these explosives were intended for a terrorist attack in this area of ​​the department.

Two uniforms similar to those used by the National Police, pamphlets alluding to the Joaquín González Front, and a motorcycle battery were also found at the site, evidence of the criminal intent of this illegal group.

The explosive material was destroyed in a controlled manner by the National Police’s bomb squad, while the other seized items were turned over to the appropriate authorities for legal proceedings.

According to technical assessments, the explosive’s blast radius would have been approximately 40 meters, posing a serious risk to the civilian population and infrastructure in the region.
