“SICARIO Y COBARDE”: LOS MOTIVOS POR LOS QUE URIBE SE FUE CONTRA GUSTAVO PETRO CON ESTAS DURAS PALABRAS.

En las últimas horas, el expresidente Álvaro Uribe Vélez y el actual primer mandatario colombiano, Gustavo Petro Urrego, protagonizaron una nueva discusión mediática en redes sociales. Pese a que ambos políticos son opositores desde hace más de veinte años, desde hace alrededor de seis años los líderes del Centro Democrático y la Colombia Humana no se enfrentaban a un debate de esta magnitud.

La controversial disputa se originó luego de que el jefe de Estado colombiano publicara a través de sus redes sociales las razones por las que desde su cargo como presidente no se ha pronunciado públicamente sobre la investigación judicial que adelanta la Fiscalía General de la Nación en contra del expresidente Uribe.

“Considere mi deber no hacerlo por respeto a él y al juez de su caso y a la justicia en general. Veo la enorme cantidad de presiones sobre la justicia que se ha desatado. Quien ejerza el oficio de juez, hombre o mujer, tiene el deber y el derecho de actuar con total imparcialidad, independencia y objetividad. Mi deber es proteger esa decisión, cualquiera que sea y a la persona que la profiera”, escribió el Presidente Petro por medio de su cuenta de X.

¿Cuál fue la respuesta de Álvaro Uribe?

Luego de recibir este mensaje, el expresidente Uribe citó varios trinos anteriores en los que Gustavo Petro hizo referencia a su proceso judicial y le solicitó al primer mandatario dejar de mentir. En consecuencia, el jefe de Estado colombiano volvió a pronunciarse a través de la red social X y aseguró que el líder del Centro Democrático estaba en búsqueda de nuevas declaraciones. Sin embargo, Petro aclaró que no emitiría balances en medio de las decisiones judiciales que serán anunciadas en los próximos días.

“Sé que el expresidente Uribe Vélez quiere mis pronunciamientos sobre sus actuaciones y mis anteriores debates como congresista. Pero no lo puedo hacer ahora. Cuando decisiones judiciales, que debo respetar y no influir para nada, se van a tomar. Otro día más adelante, quizás haga un libro sobre mis debates. Por ahora guardo mi silencio. No se debe presionar a los jueces”, escribió Petro.

Uribe vuelve a llamar ‘sicario’ a Petro

En medio de la discusión, el expresidente Uribe volvió a calificar por segunda vez a Gustavo Petro como sicario moral. Este adjetivo habría sido usado por el exsenador colombiano durante una discusión política que ambas figuras protagonizaron en el Congreso de la República en abril de 2019.

“Me ha gritado tres veces el senador Uribe Vélez sicario, sicario, sicario, está fuera de control por mi intervención respecto a la JEP, que le den una inyección de valeriana intravenosa urgente”, fue la respuesta de Gustavo Petro por medio de su cuenta de X ante las declaraciones del exsenador colombiano.

En esta oportunidad, Álvaro Uribe aseguró que estaba listo para repetirle personalmente estas acusaciones. “Sobre la amenaza que me lanza el presidente Petro la recibo como la de un cobarde que ha venido perdiendo la capacidad de embolatar a los colombianos (…) Estaré listo para repetirle en la cara, ojalá más cerca, lo que le dije en el Senado: Sicario Moral”, añadió Álvaro Uribe.

In recent hours, former President Álvaro Uribe Vélez and the current Colombian president, Gustavo Petro Urrego, have engaged in a new media argument on social media. Although both politicians have been opponents for more than twenty years, the leaders of the Democratic Center and the Humane Colombia have not engaged in a debate of this magnitude for about six years.

The controversial dispute arose after the Colombian president published on his social media the reasons why, as president, he has not publicly commented on the judicial investigation being conducted by the Attorney General’s Office against former President Uribe.

“I consider it my duty not to do so out of respect for him, the judge in his case, and the justice system in general. I see the enormous amount of pressure that has been unleashed on the justice system. Anyone who exercises the office of judge, male or female, has the duty and the right to act with complete impartiality, independence, and objectivity. My duty is to protect that decision, whatever it may be, and whoever makes it,” President Petro wrote via his X account.

What was Álvaro Uribe’s response?

After receiving this message, former President Uribe cited several previous tweets in which Gustavo Petro referred to his legal proceedings and asked the president to stop lying. Consequently, the Colombian president spoke out again via the X social media platform and stated that the leader of the Democratic Center was seeking further statements. However, Petro clarified that he would not issue any assessments amid the judicial decisions that will be announced in the coming days. “I know that former President Uribe Vélez wants my statements on his actions and my previous debates as a congressman. But I can’t do it now. When judicial decisions are made, which I must respect and not influence in any way, I might write a book about my debates. For now, I remain silent. Judges should not be pressured,” Petro wrote.

Uribe calls Petro a “hitman” again

In the midst of the discussion, former President Uribe called Gustavo Petro a “moral hitman” for the second time. This adjective was reportedly used by the former Colombian senator during a political discussion the two figures had in Congress in April 2019.

“Senator Uribe Vélez has yelled at me three times, ‘hitman, hitman, hitman, he’s out of control because of my intervention regarding the JEP, give him an urgent intravenous valerian injection,” was Gustavo Petro’s response via his X account to the former Colombian senator’s statements.

On this occasion, Álvaro Uribe stated that he was ready to repeat these accusations to him personally. «Regarding the threat President Petro is making against me, I receive it as that of a coward who has been losing his ability to fool Colombians (…) I will be ready to repeat to his face, hopefully more directly, what I told him in the Senate: Moral Hitman,» Álvaro Uribe added.
