• El mandatario anunció que el evento más importante del sector hotelero del país se realizará en octubre en Expofuturo, con respaldo de la Gobernación de Risaralda y organización de Cotelco.

Pereira, Risaralda, 24 de agosto de 2025. Pereira fue confirmada oficialmente como sede del Congreso Nacional de la Hotelería 2025, el evento más relevante del sector en Colombia. El anuncio lo hizo el gobernador de Risaralda, Juan Diego Patiño Ochoa, en compañía del presidente ejecutivo de la Asociación Hotelera y Turística de Colombia (Cotelco), José Andrés Duarte García.

El congreso se llevará a cabo los días 22, 23 y 24 de octubre en el centro de convenciones Expofuturo. El mandatario risaraldense destacó que el evento no solo posiciona a Pereira como epicentro del turismo nacional, sino que también será una plataforma para mostrar el potencial de todo el departamento.

“Desde la Gobernación de Risaralda seguimos respaldando el turismo y apoyaremos decididamente el Congreso Nacional de la Hotelería, que realizaremos junto a Cotelco en octubre de 2025 en nuestro departamento”, expresó el gobernador Patiño.

Aseguró, además, que el evento permitirá visibilizar la identidad regional: “Queremos que quienes lleguen a Pereira se conecten con lo que somos como región. Este congreso es una vitrina para mostrar nuestro valor turístico, cultural y humano. El fin de semana posterior al evento será clave para impulsar el desarrollo turístico de los municipios”.

El presidente ejecutivo de Cotelco, José Andrés Duarte García, extendió la invitación a los empresarios del sector y resaltó el valor estratégico del congreso:

“Este será un espacio fundamental para la articulación entre el sector privado y los gobiernos locales. Invitamos a todo el hotelería y a los prestadores de servicios turísticos del país a que nos acompañen en Pereira los días 22, 23 y 24 de octubre”.

AGENDA ACADÉMICA Y FERIA ESPECIALIZADA

El Congreso Nacional de la Hotelería contará con una agenda académica de alto nivel con expertos de Estados Unidos, México, Chile, Europa y Colombia. Los temas incluirán economía demográfica, liderazgo estratégico, hotelería 2.0 e inteligencia artificial aplicada al sector turístico.

“Compartiremos conocimiento desde diversas regiones del mundo, con enfoques que fortalecerán la competitividad y eficiencia del sector alojamiento en Colombia”, señaló Duarte. Además, subrayó el papel de las nuevas tecnologías: “Hablaremos de la evolución del hospitality y de cómo las herramientas de inteligencia artificial están transformando la industria”.

Paralelamente, se desarrollará Expocotelco, feria de proveeduría especializada para el sector hotelero, que reunirá a empresas nacionales e internacionales con soluciones innovadoras y productos de vanguardia.

PROMOCIÓN DE LA OFERTA TURÍSTICA REGIONAL

Cotelco y la Gobernación de Risaralda también anunciaron una estrategia conjunta para promover la oferta turística del departamento durante el evento. Se tiene prevista una muestra cultural y gastronómica de cierre, dirigida a los cerca de 2.000 asistentes y recorridos turísticos los días sábado 25 y domingo 26 de octubre.

“Organizaremos experiencias en municipios como Marsella, Santa Rosa de Cabal y Medio San Juan para que los visitantes conozcan de primera mano la riqueza patrimonial, natural y agrícola del territorio”, explicó Duarte.

The congress will take place on October 22, 23, and 24 at the Expofuturo convention center. The Risaralda governor emphasized that the event not only positions Pereira as the epicenter of national tourism, but will also be a platform to showcase the potential of the entire department.

«From the Risaralda Governor’s Office, we continue to support tourism and will strongly support the National Hotel Congress, which we will hold together with Cotelco in October 2025 in our department,» said Governor Patiño.

He also assured that the event will highlight the regional identity: «We want those who come to Pereira to connect with who we are as a region. This congress is a showcase to showcase our tourism, cultural, and human value. The weekend following the event will be key to boosting the tourism development of the municipalities.»

Cotelco’s CEO, José Andrés Duarte García, extended the invitation to industry leaders and highlighted the strategic value of the congress:

“This will be a fundamental space for coordination between the private sector and local governments. We invite all hotel and tourism service providers in the country to join us in Pereira on October 22, 23, and 24.”

ACADEMIC AGENDA AND SPECIALIZED FAIR

The National Hotel Congress will feature a high-level academic agenda with experts from the United States, Mexico, Chile, Europe, and Colombia. Topics will include demographic economics, strategic leadership, hotel 2.0, and artificial intelligence applied to the tourism sector.

“We will share knowledge from various regions of the world, with approaches that will strengthen the competitiveness and efficiency of the lodging sector in Colombia,” Duarte stated. He also highlighted the role of new technologies: «We will talk about the evolution of hospitality and how artificial intelligence tools are transforming the industry.»

At the same time, Expocotelco, a specialized supplier fair for the hotel sector, will be held, bringing together national and international companies with innovative solutions and cutting-edge products.

PROMOTION OF REGIONAL TOURISM OFFERINGS

Cotelco and the Risaralda Governor’s Office also announced a joint strategy to promote the department’s tourism offerings during the event. A closing cultural and gastronomic showcase, aimed at the approximately 2,000 attendees, and tours are planned for Saturday, October 25th and Sunday, October 26th.

«We will organize experiences in municipalities such as Marsella, Santa Rosa de Cabal, and Medio San Juan so that visitors can experience firsthand the region’s rich heritage, natural resources, and agricultural products,» Duarte explained.
