Según cifras de la Superintendencia de Notariado y Registro, entre enero del 2023 y abril del 2024, se realzaron en el país 918ceremonias nupciales entre parejas del mismo sexo : 477 entre mujeres y 441 entre hombres.

El Departamento de Risaralda ocupó el tercer lugar con más casamientos entre mujeres, alcanzando 19 casos en los primeros cuatro meses del año en curso, solo superado por Antioquia 35 casos y Bogotá con 30.

Desde el 2013, en Colombia las parejas del mismo sexo se pueden casar por lo civil ante un juez o notario, con las mismas formalidades que un matrimonio heterosexual, gracias a un fallo de la Corte Constitucional sentencia C-577 de 2011.

El informe de la Superintendencia muestra que los matrimonios de parejas del mismo sexo son mas estables que las heterosexuales.

Algunos de los países que han aproado el matrimonio civil entre personas del mismo sexo son :

Países bajos 2001, Bélgica 2023, Canadá 2005, España 2005, Sudáfrica  2006, Noruega 2009, Suecia 2009, Argentina 2010, Islandia 2010, México 2010 y Portugal 2010.

According to figures from the Superintendency of Notaries and Registry, between January 2023 and April 2024, 918 wedding ceremonies were performed in the country between same-sex couples: 477 between women and 441 between men.

The Department of Risaralda ranked third with the most marriages between women, reaching 19 cases in the first four months of this year, only surpassed by Antioquia with 35 cases and Bogotá with 30.

Since 2013, in Colombia same-sex couples can marry in a civil ceremony before a judge or notary, with the same formalities as a heterosexual marriage, thanks to a ruling by the Constitutional Court, sentence C-577 of 2011.

The report by the Superintendency shows that marriages between same-sex couples are more stable than heterosexual ones.
