No obstante, que el presidente de Colombia Gustavo Petro, ha recibido desde sus inicios respaldo a su propósito de lograr la “Paz Total” para nuestra nación, como el que le ofreciera el presidente español Pedro Sanchez, al firmar en el Palacio de La Moncloa de Madrid, a principios de mayo, ocho acuerdos de cooperación en distintas materias, entre las dos naciones, anunciándole Pedro Sanchez un millón de euros que aportaría España en este 2023; y que en la entrevista que Maria Isabel Rueda, le hiciera a Jaime Alberto Cabal, el presidente de la Federación Nacional de Comerciantes, sobre la reunión que sostuvieran Fenalco, la ANDI y la SAC con el presidente Petro a principios de septiembre, Cabal manifestó que asistieron a la reunión con la mano extendida y hubo mucho dialogo; pero que ningún plan concreto para reactivar la economía; y que la ministra del trabajo Gloria Inés Ramirez, los trato de manera despectiva y desobligante, cuando dijo que: “Cabal se siente como la ultima Coca-Cola del desierto”. Preguntando Maria Isabel, en su especial para El Tiempo del domingo: ¿Cuáles fueron las preocupaciones sobre la inseguridad en el país que El Consejo Gremial fue a plantear a palacio? Responde Cabal: “la seguridad la hemos visto deteriorada primero en las ciudades y en el comercio.

El 68% de los comerciantes se sienten totalmente desamparados por la fuerza pública. Otra cosa es la inseguridad en las carreteras; pues en lo que va corrido del año, van más de 500 bloqueos. Le planteamos al Presidente y al Ministro de Defensa tener una Fuerza Pública mucho más visible”.

Para culminar, el presidente de Fenalco manifestó: “A pesar de las diferencias y discrepancias, nuestra obligación es tender puentes, así no comulguemos con todas las ideas del gobierno”.
