“98 años de existencia del Cuerpo Oficial de Bomberos Pereira y por primera vez llega una mujer como directora”, comentó el alcalde Mauricio Salazar destacando con orgullo este nombramiento.

Con una amplia trayectoria en la administración pública y una sólida formación profesional, Nataly Calderón Melo asume este nuevo reto con el compromiso de fortalecer la gestión, el liderazgo y el bienestar del talento humano que integra el Cuerpo Oficial de Bomberos Pereira.

Abogada especialista en democracia y régimen electoral especialista en gestión pública, también se desempeñó como Secretaría de Desarrollo Social en el municipio de Santa Rosa de Cabal.

«Hoy asumo con profundo honor y gratitud la dirección del Cuerpo Oficial de Bomberos de Pereira, una institución que representa la valentía, la entrega y el servicio a la vida. Ser la primera mujer en ocupar este cargo me llena de orgullo, pero también de responsabilidad. Llego con el compromiso de liderar desde la experiencia administrativa, pero, sobre todo, desde la calidez humana y el respeto, por quienes hacen posible que esta institución sea un ejemplo de valor, amor, disciplina y abnegación por la comunidad», expresó la directora Nataly Calderón Melo.

Asimismo, la nueva directora destacó su propósito de seguir fortaleciendo el trabajo articulado con la administración municipal y las entidades que protegen la vida en todas sus formas:

«De la mano del señor alcalde y junto a las instituciones que trabajan por el bienestar animal y la protección de la vida y los bienes, seguiremos construyendo una Pereira más segura, solidaria y humana. A las mujeres de Pereira, gracias por recordarnos que los sueños también se conquistan».

Este nombramiento representa un avance significativo en la equidad de género y el liderazgo femenino dentro de los organismos de socorro de la ciudad, reafirmando el compromiso del Cuerpo Oficial de Bomberos Pereira con la inclusión, la excelencia y el servicio a la comunidad.

Así mismo el mandatario agradeció el servicio y labor del director saliente, y reiteró el apoyo permanente de la administración por una institución tan importante para la ciudad.

«The Pereira Fire Department has been in existence for 98 years, and for the first time, a woman has been appointed director,» commented Mayor Mauricio Salazar, proudly highlighting this appointment.

With extensive experience in public administration and a solid professional background, Nataly Calderón Melo takes on this new challenge with the commitment to strengthen the management, leadership, and well-being of the human talent that makes up the Pereira Fire Department.

A lawyer specializing in democracy and electoral systems, she also served as Secretary of Social Development in the municipality of Santa Rosa de Cabal.

«Today, with profound honor and gratitude, I assume the leadership of the Pereira Fire Department, an institution that represents courage, dedication, and service to life. Being the first woman to hold this position fills me with pride, but also with responsibility. I arrive committed to leading with administrative experience, but above all, with warmth and respect for those who make this institution an example of courage, love, discipline, and selflessness for the community,» said Director Nataly Calderón Melo.

The new director also emphasized her intention to continue strengthening collaborative work with the municipal administration and organizations that protect life in all its forms:

«With the help of the mayor and alongside the institutions that work for animal welfare and the protection of life and property, we will continue to build a safer, more supportive, and more humane Pereira. To the women of Pereira, thank you for reminding us that dreams can also be achieved.»

This appointment represents a significant advance in gender equality and female leadership within the city’s emergency agencies, reaffirming the Pereira Fire Department’s commitment to inclusion, excellence, and community service.

The president also thanked the outgoing director for his service and work and reiterated the administration’s ongoing support for such an important institution for the city.
