EL DÍA MUNDIAL DE LA RELIGIÓN

El próximo domingo 18 de enero, celebramos el Día Mundial de la Religión. No es una fecha para el proselitismo ni para la exaltación de una sola bandera dogmática; es, por el contrario, una invitación a la pausa necesaria. Es una jornada para reconocer que, bajo la diversidad de túnicas, rezos y templos, la humanidad entera comparte la misma sed de trascendencia y las mismas preguntas frente al misterio de la existencia.

En el corazón de la experiencia religiosa no habita solo el rito, sino la búsqueda de aquello que sobrepasa el tiempo físico. Es aquí donde mi reflexión cobra una vigencia al plantear la pregunta que ha desvelado a filósofos y teólogos por milenios: ¿Existe la vida eterna?

Para el creyente, la respuesta no admite vacilaciones. Sí, existe la vida eterna. Vana sería nuestra fe si no estuviéramos seguros de ella. Esta sentencia no es un consuelo superficial ante la muerte, sino el fundamento mismo del sentido. La eternidad no es una posibilidad remota que aguarda al final del camino; es el motor que pone en marcha la voluntad y la esperanza.

Sin embargo, esta visión no nos aleja de la realidad terrenal; al contrario, nos ancla a ella con una mayor responsabilidad ética a través de tres pilares fundamentales:

La vida eterna no se presenta como un regalo pasivo, sino como un destino que se labra en el presente. En nuestro interior habita la conciencia, esa brújula divina que juzga cada actuación y nos susurra que el acto más pequeño tiene un eco en el infinito.

A pesar de las aparentes diferencias doctrinales, existe un punto de encuentro universal. Todas las creencias convergen en una misma directriz: Dios. Reconocer este origen común es el primer paso para desarmar los fanatismos. -Si todos los caminos apuntan hacia el mismo Creador, la religión debe dejar de ser una frontera para convertirse en un instrumento de unión, amor y respeto mutuo.

El 18 de enero 2026, nos exige mirar más allá de lo visible. La verdadera unidad proviene del reconocimiento de esa Fuerza Superior que nos hermana.

La eternidad la construimos -coherentemente- con nuestros pasos, derribando prejuicios y escuchando la conciencia.

Que la religión sea, pues, el abrazo y no la distancia.

WORLD RELIGION DAY

Next Sunday, January 18, we celebrate World Religion Day. It is not a day for proselytizing or for the exaltation of a single dogma; on the contrary, it is an invitation to a necessary pause. It is a day to recognize that, beneath the diversity of robes, prayers, and temples, all of humanity shares the same thirst for transcendence and the same questions in the face of the mystery of existence.

At the heart of religious experience resides not only ritual, but also the search for that which transcends physical time. It is here that my reflection becomes relevant as I pose the question that has puzzled philosophers and theologians for millennia: Does eternal life exist?

For the believer, the answer is unequivocal. Yes, eternal life exists. Our faith would be in vain if we were not certain of it. This statement is not a superficial consolation in the face of death, but the very foundation of meaning. Eternity is not a remote possibility awaiting us at the end of the road; it is the driving force behind our will and our hope.

However, this vision does not distance us from earthly reality; on the contrary, it anchors us to it with a greater ethical responsibility through three fundamental pillars:

Eternal life is not presented as a passive gift, but as a destiny forged in the present. Within us dwells our conscience, that divine compass that judges every action and whispers to us that the smallest act has an echo in the infinite.

Despite apparent doctrinal differences, there is a universal point of convergence. All beliefs converge on the same guiding principle: God. Recognizing this common origin is the first step in dismantling fanaticism. If all paths lead to the same Creator, religion must cease to be a boundary and become an instrument of unity, love, and mutual respect.

January 18, 2026, calls us to look beyond the visible. True unity comes from recognizing that Higher Power that unites us.

We build eternity—coherently—with our actions, by dismantling prejudices and listening to our conscience.

Let religion, then, be an embrace, not distance.
