RISARALDA: STAR OF THE AXIS
By: Rubén Darío Franco Narváez
In nineteen sixty-seven, February marked a triumphant beginning;/
Risaralda was born, a radiant star, shining legally on the map./
With Bolívar free, naked and without malice, without the cold iron of the ancestral sword,/
the beloved and night-owl-loving Pereira, the pearl, our capital, rose up./
Fourteen are children of this nobility,/
who make up the nation with great dignity:/
Tatamá Hill watches from Apía,/
while the Cauca River bathes La Virginia in a journey of peace and brotherhood./
Balboa is a balcony adorned with flowers,/
Dosquebradas roars, an industrial force,/
and Guática sleeps with its Gamonrá,/
gazing at the celestial realm. /
In Pueblo Rico, Montezuma touches the sky, /
in Belén de Umbría, the Bishop is their longing, /
and in Santa Rosa, water springs forth, /
with thermal baths of glory and a celestial gift. /
The Mapa River in Santuario is a colossus, /
La Celia and its sugarcane fields are a treasure, /
in Quinchía, the Salto del Burro waterfall is astonishing, /
and the green of Marsella is a crown of gold. /
In Mistrató, the Parque del Amor (Park of Love) blossoms, /
and thus Risaralda appears before the world; /
a garden of affections, a sentimental heart, /
a piece of heaven on national soil! /

RISARALDA: 59 YEARS OF SOVEREIGNTY AND PROGRESS
Today, as we commemorate the 59th anniversary of the event that gave life to the department of Risaralda, we pause to consider the question posed by the chronicler Rudafra: What is its greatest achievement in this historical journey?
The answer is as resounding as its history itself: its independence. After the dismemberment of Greater Caldas, Risaralda sought not only a name on the map, but also its own identity based on self-determination. This rupture was not an end, but the birth of a regional power that has learned to stand on its own two feet.

Balboa es balcón de flores vestido, /
Dosquebradas ruge, fuerza industrial, /
y Guática duerme con su Gamonrá, /
mirando el espacio de forma sideral. /
