In Coveñas, Sucre, CAEM and CIDENAL courses conduct a strategic visit to the Marine Infantry training base
Among the group of visitors from the Advanced Military Studies Course (CAEM) are officers from the Colombian Military Forces and the Navies of Argentina, Brazil, Ecuador, and Mexico.

With the aim of learning firsthand about the instruction, training, and training processes of men and women belonging to the Marine Corps, the strong arm of the Colombian Navy, 23 officers from the Advanced Military Studies Course (CAEM) and 40 civilians from the Comprehensive National Defense Course (CIDENAL) 2025 from the Higher War College conducted a geostrategic visit to the Marine Infantry Training Base (BEINM), located in Coveñas, Sucre. During the visit, led by the Base Commander, Marine Infantry Colonel Jorge Oliverio Rico Tovar, the 63 students received various lectures in which they learned about the fulfillment of the Unit’s mission and its impact on national defense; the training process for the approximately 8,000 young Marines who enter each year; the various military training programs offered at the International Center of Advanced Riverine Excellence (CIEAF), the Amphibious Instruction and Training Center (CIEAN), and the Peacekeeping Operations Training and Training Center (CEPAZ).

In this last aspect, the members of CAEM and CIDENAL highlighted the international prestige enjoyed by the Marine Infantry Training Base, which has trained nearly 4,000 uniformed personnel from the Armed Forces of 15 countries in the Americas, two in Europe, and one in Africa. Thus demonstrating that the Colombian Marine Infantry is the third most highly trained and strongest in the world.

As part of the agenda, various demonstrations of military instruction and training capabilities were carried out, showcasing the four capabilities of the Marine Infantry: Amphibious, Riverine, Special Forces, and Coastal Defense, established in the Naval Strategic Plan 2042.

«I want to give special recognition to all the officers, non-commissioned officers, and Marines who make up and belong to this great training canton in Coveñas. From a strategic perspective, the capabilities of our sister Marine Infantry are important to support our military operations, as well as providing the support we require on the rivers and seas,» said Colonel Raúl Perilla Monroy, a National Army officer and student of the Advanced Military Studies Course.

It should be noted that the officers who comprise the CAEM 2025, once they complete the legal course and meet the established requirements, will be promoted to the ranks of Rear Admiral and Brigadier General of the Republic.

The Colombian Navy, through the Marine Infantry Training Base, remains committed to the comprehensive training of Colombian and international Marines and Sailors, developing men and women capable of facing current operational challenges in defense and security in national and international settings.

En Coveñas – Sucre, cursos CAEM y CIDENAL realizan visita estratégica a la base de entrenamiento de Infantería de Marina

Dentro del grupo de visitantes del Curso de Altos Estudios Militares -CAEM-, se encuentran oficiales de las Fuerzas Militares de Colombia y de las Armadas de Argentina, Brasil, Ecuador y México.

Con el objetivo de conocer de primera mano los procesos de instrucción, capacitación y entrenamiento de hombres y mujeres, pertenecientes al cuerpo de Infantería de Marina, brazo fuerte de la Armada de Colombia, 23 Oficiales del Curso de Altos Estudios Militares -CAEM- y 40 civiles del Curso Integral de Defensa Nacional -CIDENAL- 2025 de la Escuela Superior de Guerra, realizaron una visita geoestratégica a la Base de Entrenamiento de Infantería de Marina –BEINM-, ubicada en Coveñas, Sucre. 

Durante la visita liderada por el Comandante de la Base, Coronel de Infantería de Marina Jorge Oliverio Rico Tovar, los 63 alumnos recibieron diferentes conferencias en las que pudieron conocer el cumplimiento de la misionalidad de la Unidad y su impacto en la defensa de la nación; el proceso de instrucción de los cerca de ocho mil jóvenes aspirantes a Infantes de Marina que ingresan cada año; los diferentes programas de capacitación militar que se adelantan en el Centro Internacional de Excelencia Avanzada Fluvial -CIEAF-, el Centro de Instrucción y Entrenamiento Anfibio -CIEAN- y el Centro de Entrenamiento y Capacitación para operaciones de Paz –CEPAZ-. 

En este último aspecto, los integrantes del CAEM y CIDENAL destacaron el prestigio del que goza, a nivel internacional, la Base de Entrenamiento de Infantería de Marina, al capacitar cerca de cuatro mil uniformados de las Fuerzas Armadas de 15 países en el continente americano, dos europeos y uno africano; demostrando de esta manera, que la Infantería de Marina colombiana es la tercera más entrenada y fuerte, en el mundo. 

Como parte de la agenda desarrollada, se ejecutaron diferentes demostraciones de capacidades en materia de instrucción y entrenamiento militar, en las que se dieron a conocer las cuatro capacidades de la Infantería de Marina: Anfibia, Fluvial, Fuerzas Especiales y Defensa de Litoral, establecidas en el Plan Estratégico Naval 2042. 

“Quiero hacer un reconocimiento especial a todo el personal de oficiales, suboficiales e Infantes de Marina que integran y que pertenecen a este gran cantón de entrenamiento en Coveñas. Desde el punto de vista estratégico, las capacidades de nuestra hermana Infantería de Marina son importantes para brindar el apoyo a nuestras operaciones militares, así como brindar el apoyo que requerimos en los ríos y mares”, expresó el Coronel Raúl Perilla Monroy, oficial del Ejército Nacional y alumno del Curso de Altos Estudios Militares. 

Cabe destacar que, los oficiales que integran el CAEM 2025, una vez finalicen el curso de ley y cumplan con los requisitos establecidos, ascenderán a los grados de Contralmirante y Brigadier General de la República. 

La Armada de Colombia, a través de la Base de Entrenamiento de Infantería de Marina, continúa comprometida con la formación integral de los Infantes de Marina y Marinos de Colombia y del mundo, forjando hombres y mujeres capaces de enfrentar los retos operacionales actuales, en materia de defensa y seguridad, en escenarios nacionales e internacionales.
