Ejército y Policía frustran millonario hurto en el norte del Cauca

En menos de 24 horas recuperaron una tractomula con mercancía avaluada en más de 2000 millones de pesos, así mismo, lograron la captura de un sujeto y la incautación de cuatro motocicletas de alto cilindraje.

En desarrollo de operaciones militares orientadas a garantizar la seguridad de la población civil, tropas de la Vigésima Novena Brigada, unidad orgánica de la Tercera División del Ejército Nacional, en coordinación con la Policía Nacional, lograron la recuperación de un vehículo de carga que había sido reportado como robado en el municipio de Puerto Tejada, departamento del Cauca.

Los hechos se registraron en la vereda El Hormiguero, donde, gracias a las maniobras de control territorial del Grupo Liviano de Caballería N.º 8  junto al Batallón de Alta Montaña  N.º 8, fue ubicado el automotor que transportaba aproximadamente 34 toneladas de atún, con un valor superior estimado en 2000 millones de pesos. Esta mercancía estaba siendo movilizada de manera irregular y pretendía ser comercializada ilegalmente.

Durante la operación fue capturado en flagrancia un sujeto que estaría relacionado con el hecho, y se incautaron cuatro motocicletas que habrían sido utilizadas para facilitar el desplazamiento y resguardo del vehículo. Tanto el capturado como los elementos incautados fueron puestos a disposición de las autoridades competentes para continuar con el proceso judicial correspondiente.

La oportuna reacción de las tropas permitió frenar un millonario hurto y reafirmar el compromiso del Ejército Nacional con la defensa de los bienes de la ciudadanía, así como con la lucha contra las estructuras que delinquen en el norte del Cauca.

Este resultado operacional impacta directamente las economías ilegales que buscan afectar la seguridad de la región, y evidencia la acción oportuna de las tropas en defensa de los intereses de la población.

El Ejército Nacional continuará desarrollando operaciones militares de forma conjunta, coordinada e interinstitucional, con el firme propósito de contrarrestar las acciones criminales y mantener la tranquilidad de las comunidades en el suroccidente del país.

In the course of military operations aimed at ensuring the safety of the civilian population, troops from the Twenty-Ninth Brigade, an organic unit of the Third Division of the National Army, in coordination with the National Police, recovered a cargo vehicle that had been reported stolen in the municipality of Puerto Tejada, Cauca department.

The incident occurred in the El Hormiguero area, where, thanks to territorial control maneuvers by the 8th Light Cavalry Group and the 8th High Mountain Battalion, the vehicle was located transporting approximately 34 tons of tuna, with an estimated value of over 2 billion pesos. This merchandise was being transported irregularly and was intended to be sold illegally.

During the operation, a suspect believed to be linked to the incident was caught red-handed, and four motorcycles were seized, which were allegedly used to facilitate the movement and safekeeping of the vehicle. Both the detainee and the seized items were handed over to the competent authorities for further legal proceedings.

The troops’ timely response helped stop a multimillion-dollar theft and reaffirmed the National Army’s commitment to defending citizens’ property and combating criminal organizations in northern Cauca.

This operational result directly impacts the illegal economies that seek to undermine the security of the region and demonstrates the timely action of troops in defense of the interests of the population.
