Pereira un Gran Talento realiza tamizajes a estudiantes de ocho instituciones educativas focalizadas.

Pereira un Gran Talento -PGT- se constituye en uno de los proyectos de la Alcaldía de Pereira de mayor impacto que tendrá el sector educativo bajo la administración del alcalde Mauricio Salazar el cual tiene, de manera inicial, ocho instituciones educativas focalizadas: Ciudadela Cuba, Aquilino Bedoya, Augusto Zuluaga, Hans Drews Arango, María Dolorosa, Deogracias Cardona, Combia y La Bella. 

Es así, como un grupo interdisciplinario de profesionales de la Secretaría de Educación de Pereira se encuentra realizando tamizajes a estudiantes de grados sexto en los colegios antes mencionados, en artes, deportes y tecnología, con el fin de agruparlos, en el segundo semestre, según sus intereses.  

“Buscamos transformar el currículum, para dar cumplimiento al Decreto 1290 que desde el 2009 nos están mandando a transformar el proceso de enseñanza y aprendizaje centrado en los intereses, habilidades y estilos de aprendizaje y ese ha sido el interés de nuestro alcalde, Mauricio Salazar”, explicó Daniel Arcila, integrante del comité central de PGT. 

Para Sofía Escobar, joven talento del Aquilino Bedoya, es muy importante esta clase de espacios generados por la Alcaldía de Pereira, quien indicó “toco la batería desde los seis años de edad y me encanta la música; y ahora tener la posibilidad de que miren mi talento y lo destaquen en muy valioso”. 

Pereira un Gran Talento le apuesta a la construcción de un ecosistema de base humana, tecnológica, científica, bilingüe, de liderazgo, emprendimiento y de talentos en artes, y deportes.

Pereira, a Great Talent (PGT) is one of the Mayor’s Office projects with the greatest impact on the education sector under the administration of Mayor Mauricio Salazar. Initially, it has eight targeted educational institutions: Ciudadela Cuba, Aquilino Bedoya, Augusto Zuluaga, Hans Drews Arango, María Dolorosa, Deogracias Cardona, Combia, and La Bella.

Thus, an interdisciplinary group of professionals from the Pereira Education Secretariat is conducting screenings for sixth-grade students at the aforementioned schools in the arts, sports, and technology, with the goal of grouping them according to their interests in the second semester.

“We seek to transform the curriculum to comply with Decree 1290, which since 2009 has mandated us to transform the teaching and learning process, focusing on interests, abilities, and learning styles. This has been the focus of our mayor, Mauricio Salazar,” explained Daniel Arcila, a member of the PGT central committee.

For Sofía Escobar, a young talent from Aquilino Bedoya, this type of space created by the Pereira Mayor’s Office is very important. She stated, “I’ve been playing the drums since I was six years old and I love music; and now having the opportunity for my talent to be recognized and recognized is very valuable.”

Pereira, a Great Talent, is committed to building an ecosystem with a human, technological, scientific, bilingual foundation, leadership, entrepreneurship, and talent in the arts and sports.
