El Padre Nelson Giraldo Mejía se posesionó como nuevo Presidente del Club Rotario Pereira para el período julio 2023- julio 2024, recibiendo el Botón de Oro de manos de la antecesora Juliana Montes Vallejo, en ceremonia nocturna realizada en la Universidad Tecnológica el martes 4 de julio 2023.

La anterior presidenta, Juliana Montes, presentó un balance de su administración y destacó las cualidades del Sacerdote Nelson Giraldo Mejía, augurándole éxitos como nuevo timonel Rotario de Pereira.

El Padre Nelson Giraldo Mejía, después de presentar agradecimientos a los asistentes, realizó un formidable recorrido sobre la historia Rotaria en Pereira, iniciando con su Constitución el 27 de octubre 1934 expedida desde la Central en Chicago Estados Unidos. Desde entonces, el CLUB ROTARIO PEREIRA ha estado presente en todas las obras importantes de la capital risaraldense; incluyendo, la de mayor importancia: HOSPITAL UNIVERSITARIO SAN JORGE.

El doctor Luis Enrique Arango Jiménez, exrector de la Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira, leyó en voz alta LA ORACIÓN PATRIA.

El Director Cultural de PERIODISTAS DE RISARALDA PRI, Carlos Aidé Zapata Zuluaga, pronunció un sentido discurso relievando la importancia del Padre Nelson Giraldo Mejía como máximo timonel del Club Rotario Pereira y deseándole éxitos en su gestión 2023-2024.

El Vicepresidente del Club de Leones Pereira Los Ejecutivos, periodista Luis Alberto Figueroa, en su breve intervención -cerrando las intervenciones- felicitó a la nueva Junta Directiva del CLUB ROTARIO PEREIRA: presidente Padre Nelson Giraldo Mejía, Vicepresidente doctor Luis Enrique Arango Jiménez, Secretaria Ejecutiva Juliana Montes Vallejo.

Se remató, la nutrida ceremonia, con un brindis por los 88 años de existencia del CLUB ROTARIO PEREIRA.

Father Nelson Giraldo Mejía took office as the new President of the Pereira Rotary Club for the period July 2023- July 2024, receiving the Golden Button from the hands of his predecessor Juliana Montes Vallejo, in a nocturnal ceremony held at the Technological University on Tuesday, July 4 2023.

The previous president, Juliana Montes, presented a balance of her administration and highlighted the qualities of the Priest Nelson Giraldo Mejía, predicting success for him as the new Rotarian helmsman of Pereira.

Father Nelson Giraldo Mejía, after presenting thanks to the attendees, made a formidable tour of Rotary history in Pereira, beginning with its Constitution on October 27, 1934 issued from the Headquarters in Chicago, United States. Since then, the PEREIRA ROTARY CLUB has been present in all the important works of the Risaraldense capital; including, the most important: SAN JORGE UNIVERSITY HOSPITAL.

Dr. Luis Enrique Arango Jiménez, former rector of the Technological University of Pereira, read LA ORACIÓN PATRIA aloud.

The Cultural Director of PERIODISTAS DE RISARALDA PRI, Carlos Aidé Zapata Zuluaga, delivered a heartfelt speech highlighting the importance of Father Nelson Giraldo Mejía as the top helmsman of the Pereira Rotary Club and wishing him success in his 2023-2024 management.

The Vice President of the Pereira Los Ejecutivos Lions Club, journalist Luis Alberto Figueroa, in his brief intervention -closing the interventions- congratulated the new Board of Directors of the PEREIRA ROTARY CLUB: President Father Nelson Giraldo Mejía, Vice President Dr. Luis Enrique Arango Jiménez, Executive Secretary Juliana Montes Vallejo.

The large ceremony ended with a toast for the 88 years of existence of the PEREIRA ROTARY CLUB.
