MÁS PREVENCIÓN CONTRA LA TRATA DE PERSONAS-

Se realizó un nuevo encuentro del Comité de Prevención contra el Delito de trata de Personas en Pereira, en el que se ratificó el compromiso con la protección de los derechos humanos y la implementación de medidas concretas para el tratamiento y la atención de las personas afectadas por este delito,  que atenta contra la dignidad, la integridad y la libertad de las víctimas.

“Se realiza el comité de prevención contra el delito de la Trata de Personas, un delito que afecta la vida y la integridad de las personas y su familia. Desde la administración Municipal hay total garantía de protección de los derechos y de la cobertura en el tratamiento y la intervención integral de las personas que son víctimas de este delito”, afirmó Sebastián Madrid, subsecretario de Seguridad y convivencia de Pereira.

Como parte de las estrategias de convencimiento, el funcionario anunció que el municipio se encuentra en proceso de gestión par la contratación de un albergue destinado a brindar atención integral a las víctimas de trata. Este espacio ofrecer alojamiento, atención psicosocial y alimentación, con el fin de garantizar un entorno seguro mientras se desarrollan los procesos judiciales y el restablecimiento de derechos.

Además, con motivo del Día Mundial contra la trata de personas, se desplegarán jornadas de sensibilización y acciones de control, en articulación con las autoridades, como una manifestación de compromiso institucional por combatir de manera frontal este delito.

Por su parte, paula Liliana Herrera del Instituto Colombiano de Bienestar Familiar, destacó la importancia  de estos espacios, , recalcado que “ el escenario del Comité de Trata de Personas es importante, dada la protección que se les da a todas las víctimas, pero también por la incursión que se está dando a este tipo de delito en niños y adolescentes, más desde el Eje Cafetero. Por eso se promueve en todas las campañas  la sensibilización, pero también enseñarles a las víctimas a no tener miedo a denunciar, a saber que pueden ser acompañadas en todo el proceso.

A new meeting of the Committee for the Prevention of the Crime of Human Trafficking was held in Pereira, where the commitment to the protection of human rights and the implementation of concrete measures for the treatment and care of those affected by this crime, which violates the dignity, integrity, and freedom of the victims, was reaffirmed.

«The Committee for the Prevention of the Crime of Human Trafficking is being held, a crime that affects the lives and integrity of individuals and their families. The Municipal administration fully guarantees the protection of rights and coverage in the treatment and comprehensive intervention of victims of this crime,» stated Sebastián Madrid, Undersecretary of Security and Coexistence of Pereira.

As part of the outreach strategies, the official announced that the municipality is in the process of contracting a shelter to provide comprehensive care to victims of trafficking. This space will offer accommodation, psychosocial support, and food, in order to guarantee a safe environment while judicial proceedings and the restoration of rights are carried out.

In addition, in observance of the World Day Against Human Trafficking, awareness-raising sessions and control actions will be carried out in coordination with the authorities, as a demonstration of the institutional commitment to frontally combat this crime. For her part, Paula Liliana Herrera of the Colombian Family Welfare Institute highlighted the importance of these spaces, emphasizing that «the Human Trafficking Committee is important, given the protection afforded to all victims, but also because of the incursion that this type of crime is taking place among children and adolescents, especially in the Coffee Region. That’s why all campaigns promote awareness, but also teach victims not to be afraid to report, knowing that they can be supported throughout the entire process.»
