Las divergencias del salario mínimo.

Resultó imposible que centrales obreras, empresarios y Gobierno nacional pudieran acordar el incremento del salario mínimo en Colombia para este 2024. Como ocurrió también a finales del 2022 para definir el mínimo del año 2023, recién asumida la Presidencia por el Gobierno Petro, el mínimo tuvo que ser establecido por decreto. Este año quedó fijado en 1 millón 300 mil pesos, lo que representa un aumento del 12%. El auxilio de transporte pasó de 140 mil 606 pesos a 162 mil pesos. Sin embargo, esos 140 mil pesos de diferencia para el salario y los 21 mil 394 pesos de más frente al transporte no resultan ser tan ganadores para muchos trabajadores y tampoco para el sector productivo del país.

It was impossible for labor confederations, businessmen and the national government to agree on an increase in the minimum wage in Colombia for 2024. As also happened at the end of 2022 to define the minimum for the year 2023, when the Petro Government had just assumed the Presidency, the minimum had to be established by decree. This year it was set at 1 million 300 thousand pesos, which represents an increase of 12%. The transportation aid went from 140,606 pesos to 162,000 pesos. However, those 140 thousand pesos difference for salary and the 21 thousand 394 pesos more for transportation do not turn out to be such a winner for many workers and not for the country’s productive sector either.
