Fuerzas Militares despliegan capacidades para asistir a poblaciones afectadas por emergencia climática en el Caribe.

En el marco del Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus, las Fuerzas Militares de Colombia, de manera conjunta con el Ejército Nacional y la Armada de Colombia, han desplegado de forma inmediata sus capacidades operativas, logísticas y humanas para atender la emergencia climática originada por el frente frío que afecta al Caribe colombiano.

En el departamento de Córdoba, los Soldados de la Décima Primera Brigada del Ejército Nacional brindan apoyo humanitario a cientos de familias damnificadas por la creciente ola invernal, con especial énfasis en las poblaciones ribereñas de los ríos Sinú y San Jorge.

Tropas de los batallones de Infantería N°33 Junín, N°40 Rifles y el Batallón de Apoyo y Servicios para el Combate N°11, han priorizado la evacuación de ciudadanos con movilidad reducida y adultos mayores. Asimismo, en un esfuerzo interinstitucional con la Defensa Civil y autoridades locales, se ha gestionado la entrega de más de 3.000 asistencias humanitarias, 100 kits de alimentación, y 100 kits de aseo.

Estas acciones se concentran en las zonas rurales de Canalete, Montelíbano, La Apartada y Puerto Escondido, además de mantener la vigilancia en el corredor vial que conecta a Montería con Arboletes, Antioquia.

Por su parte, la Armada de Colombia, a través de la Fuerza Naval del Caribe, ha focalizado sus esfuerzos en el municipio de Lorica, Córdoba. Tripulantes del Batallón de Infantería de Marina N°14 y del Gaula Militar Sucre trabajan arduamente en la construcción de barreras de contención mediante el llenado de costales, buscando mitigar el impacto del desbordamiento del río Sinú.

La Institución Naval ha dispuesto vehículos especializados para el traslado de damnificados hacia centros de atención, salvaguardando la integridad de los habitantes en los sectores de Cotocá Arriba, Sarandelo e Isla de Sabá, áreas con incrementos críticos en los niveles de agua.

Actualmente, las unidades militares participan activamente en el Puesto de Mando Unificado (PMU) del departamento de Córdoba. Desde este espacio, se articulan estrategias con organismos de gestión del riesgo y entidades gubernamentales para garantizar una respuesta integral y oportuna ante la contingencia.

Con estas acciones, las Fuerzas Militares de Colombia reafirman su compromiso inquebrantable con la protección de la vida y el bienestar de las comunidades, operando de manera ininterrumpida en las zonas más vulnerables del país. //MEBS

Military Forces Deploy Capabilities to Assist Populations Affected by Climate Emergency in the Caribbean.

As part of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, the Colombian Military Forces, in conjunction with the National Army and the Colombian Navy, have immediately deployed their operational, logistical, and human resources to address the climate emergency caused by the cold front affecting the Colombian Caribbean.

In the department of Córdoba, soldiers from the National Army’s Eleventh Brigade are providing humanitarian aid to hundreds of families affected by the rising winter storms, with a special focus on riverside communities along the Sinú and San Jorge rivers.

Troops from the 33rd Infantry Battalion «Junín,» the 40th Rifles Battalion, and the 11th Combat Support and Services Battalion have prioritized the evacuation of citizens with reduced mobility and senior citizens. Likewise, in an inter-institutional effort with Civil Defense and local authorities, the delivery of more than 3,000 humanitarian aid packages, 100 food kits, and 100 hygiene kits has been arranged.

These actions are concentrated in the rural areas of Canalete, Montelíbano, La Apartada, and Puerto Escondido, in addition to maintaining surveillance along the road corridor that connects Montería with Arboletes, Antioquia.

For its part, the Colombian Navy, through the Caribbean Naval Force, has focused its efforts on the municipality of Lorica, Córdoba. Crew members from the 14th Marine Infantry Battalion and the Sucre Military Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Group (GAULA) are working diligently to construct containment barriers by filling sandbags, seeking to mitigate the impact of the Sinú River overflowing its banks.

The Colombian Navy has deployed specialized vehicles to transport those affected by the flooding to assistance centers, safeguarding the well-being of residents in the Cotocá Arriba, Sarandelo, and Isla de Sabá areas, which have experienced critical increases in water levels.

Currently, military units are actively participating in the Unified Command Post (PMU) for the department of Córdoba. From this location, strategies are being coordinated with risk management agencies and government entities to ensure a comprehensive and timely response to the emergency.
