El activista colombiano de 14 años Francisco Vera,  galardonado esta semana por la ONU por la lucha que inició al fundar con 9 años el movimiento Guardianes por la Vida, reinvindica la importancia de que los más pequeño sean escuchados en la lucha contra el cambio climático.

“Las leyes las hacen los adultos, pero afectan a generaciones futuras, por lo que  de una u otra forma deberían tenernos en cuenta en las negociaciones  climáticas”, subrayó Vera en la sede europea de la ONU en Ginebra ,poco antes de recibir el premio.

El joven colombiano fue galardonado en la Cumbre de jóvenes Activistas, organizada por la ONU, junto a otros cuatro luchadores por derechos humanos y ambientales: el birmano Maung Sawyedollah de 22 años, la india Roshni Perween de 25 años la sudanesa Nisreen Elsaim de 29 años y Maimojuna Ba de 27 años y original de Burkina Faso.Vera el más joven de los cinco, participó en la sesión plenaria de la cumbre, que este año tuvo por lema “paz y reconciliación”, un mensaje que según él no solo serviría para mejorar las relaciones entre humanos sino también para las que tenemos con la naturaleza; después que le hayamos declarado la guerra a la vida”. The 14-year-old Colombian activist Francisco Vera, awarded this week by the UN for the fight he started when he founded the Guardians for Life movement at the age of 9, vindicates the importance of the little ones being heard in the fight against climate change.

“Laws are made by adults, but they affect future generations, so in one way or another they should take us into account in the climate negotiations,” Vera stressed at the UN European headquarters in Geneva, shortly before receiving the award. .

The young Colombian was awarded at the Summit of Young Activists, organized by the UN, along with four other fighters for human and environmental rights: the Burmese Maung Sawyedollah, 22 years old, the Indian Roshni Perween, 25 years old, and the Sudanese Nisreen Elsaim, 29 years old. and Maimojuna Ba, 27 years old and originally from Burkina Faso. Vera, the youngest of the five, participated in the plenary session of the summit, which this year had as its motto «peace and reconciliation», a message that according to him would not only serve to improve relationships between humans but also those we have with nature; after we have declared war on life.
