En redes sociales como Facebook e Instagram se propaga la narrativa con publicaciones que aseguran que ”El virus avanza sin control y que los jóvenes son los más afectados”,.
La ONU ha advertido sobre el preocupante aumento de contagios a nivel global y en Colombia la situación es alarmante, afirma un internauta.
Estos mensajes comenzaron a circular después de que la Directora de ONUSIDA, winnie Byanyima, alertara sobre un posible incremento casos en Latinoamérica y Europa Oriental, si estados unidos deja de financiar los programas de lucha contra esa enfermedad en decenas de países en desarrollo.
Sin embargo, sus declaraciones no hacen referencia aún brote actual en Colombia.

It is false that Colombia is facing an HIV (human immunodeficiency virus) outbreak, despite claims made on social media. In fact, a slight decrease in new positive cases was recorded in 2024.
On social media platforms like Facebook and Instagram, the narrative is spreading with posts claiming that «The virus is spreading unchecked and that young people are the most affected.»
The UN has warned of the worrying increase in infections globally, and the situation in Colombia is alarming, according to one internet user.
These messages began circulating after UNAIDS Director Winnie Byanyima warned of a possible increase in cases in Latin America and Eastern Europe if the United States stops funding programs to combat the disease in dozens of developing countries.
However, her statements do not yet refer to the current outbreak in Colombia.
