En Cauca, tropas del Ejército Nacional frustraron retén terrorista del GAO-r Estructura Dagoberto Ramos en la vía Panamericana.

A través de esta operación militar se logró el rescate de un transportador y la incautación de 3 armas largas, una pistola, 129 cartuchos de diferentes calibres, explosivos y material de intendencia de este grupo terrorista.

En una rápida y eficaz acción operacional, tropas del Ejército Nacional frustraron un retén ilegal instalado por integrantes del grupo armado organizado residual (GAO-r) estructura delincuencial Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz sobre la vía Panamericana, a la altura de la vereda Jebalá, sector El Túnel, municipio de Totoró, Cauca.

Durante el desarrollo de la operación militar, el Batallón de Infantería N.° 7, de la Vigésima Novena Brigada, con apoyo del Grupo Livinao de Caballería N.° 8, logró neutralizar la acción terrorista, lo que dio paso a un combate de encuentro que obligó a varios de los delincuentes a emprender la huida. En el hecho, un vehículo en el que se movilizaban tres presuntos integrantes del GAO-r resultó incinerado, ocasionando la muerte de los tres ocupantes.

Como resultado de esta acción, fue rescatado un conductor de furgón que estaría siendo víctima de un intento de secuestro. Así mismo, se recuperó otro vehículo y se incautaron 3 armas largas, una pistola, 129 cartuchos de diversos calibres, 2 artefactos explosivos y material de intendencia perteneciente al grupo armado ilegal.

En la ofensiva militar se logró la captura de un presunto integrante de este grupo residual, quien fue puesto a disposición de las autoridades judiciales competentes junto con el material incautado, con el fin de continuar el proceso de judicialización correspondiente.

El Ejército Nacional reafirma su compromiso con la protección de la vida y la libertad de los colombianos en zonas estratégicas del suroccidente del país, especialmente en el departamento del Cauca, donde la presencia permanente de nuestras tropas continúa debilitando las estructuras criminales que pretenden alterar la seguridad y el orden institucional.

In a swift and effective operational action, National Army troops thwarted an illegal checkpoint set up by members of the Dagoberto Ramos Ortiz Ortiz criminal group, the residual organized armed group (GAO-r), on the Pan-American Highway, near the Jebalá village, in the El Túnel sector, in the municipality of Totoró, Cauca.

During the military operation, the 7th Infantry Battalion of the Twenty-Ninth Brigade, with support from the 8th Light Cavalry Group, managed to neutralize the terrorist attack, leading to an encounter that forced several of the criminals to flee. During the incident, a vehicle carrying three alleged members of the GAO-r was set on fire, killing all three occupants.

As a result of this operation, a van driver who was allegedly the victim of an attempted kidnapping was rescued. Another vehicle was also recovered, and three long-barreled weapons, a pistol, 129 rounds of ammunition of various calibers, two explosive devices, and ammunition belonging to the illegal armed group were seized.

During the military offensive, a suspected member of this remnant group was captured. He was handed over to the competent judicial authorities along with the seized material, for further prosecution.

The National Army reaffirms its commitment to protecting the lives and liberty of Colombians in strategic areas of the southwest of the country, especially in the department of Cauca, where the permanent presence of our troops continues to weaken criminal organizations seeking to disrupt security and institutional order.
