Ejército, Policía y Fiscalía capturan a ocho integrantes del Clan del Golfo en Risaralda.

En el marco de la Operación Temis, fueron capturados ocho presuntos integrantes del grupo armado organizado Clan del Golfo en el departamento de Risaralda, en una acción conjunta entre el Ejército Nacional, la Policía y la Fiscalía General de la Nación.

En desarrollo de la operación, se logró la captura en flagrancia de alias Felipe, y, mediante orden judicial, la de alias Camilo, principal cabecilla de esta facción junto a alias Mamita, alias Pájaro, alias Pepón, alias la Diabla y alias Angy.

La intervención interinstitucional, en cumplimiento del Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus, fue liderada por tropas del Batallón de Artillería de Campaña N.° 8 San Mateo y unidades del Batallón de Fuerzas Especiales Urbanas N.° 9, en coordinación con la Policía de Risaralda, a través de sus grupos COPES, JUNGLA y el CTI de la Fiscalía Seccional Risaralda. La operación se desarrolló entre los municipios de Belén de Umbría y Mistrató.

Gracias a las labores de inteligencia militar y policial, se obtuvieron dieciséis órdenes de registro y allanamiento que permitieron afectar el componente criminal focalizado de la Subestructura Edwin Román Velásquez, la cual buscaba expandir su influencia en el departamento.

Este grupo armado organizado habría tomado el control del tráfico de estupefacientes en Belén de Umbría y Mistrató, mediante homicidios selectivos e intimidación a integrantes de bandas delincuenciales locales, con el objetivo de financiar sus actividades criminales.

La operación permitió contribuir al esclarecimiento de once homicidios y tres tentativas de homicidio ocurridas en la zona, así como la incautación de tres armas de fuego de diferentes calibres, munición, veintinueve pares de botas militares, veintiocho uniformes camuflados, arneses, morrales de asalto y otras prendas de uso privativo de las Fuerzas Militares.

Los ocho capturados fueron puestos a disposición de la autoridad competente para su judicialización por los presuntos delitos de homicidio, concierto para delinquir, tráfico, fabricación o porte de estupefacientes, y fabricación, tráfico, porte o tenencia de armas de fuego.

Este resultado representa el golpe más contundente contra el GAO Clan del Golfo en Risaralda, logrado gracias a la articulación efectiva entre el Ejército Nacional, la Policía y la Fiscalía, en defensa de la seguridad y la tranquilidad del Eje Cafetero.

El Batallón San Mateo, como unidad militar del departamento, reafirma su compromiso de trabajar de manera coordinada por la protección de todos los ciudadanos de Colombia.

As part of Operation Temis, eight alleged members of the organized armed group Clan del Golfo were captured in the department of Risaralda, in a joint operation between the National Army, the Police, and the Attorney General’s Office.

During the operation, alias Felipe was captured in flagrante delicto, and, through a court order, alias Camilo, the main leader of this faction, along with alias Mamita, alias Pájaro, alias Pepón, alias la Diabla, and alias Angy, were captured.

The inter-institutional intervention, in compliance with the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, was led by troops from the 8th San Mateo Field Artillery Battalion and units from the 9th Urban Special Forces Battalion, in coordination with the Risaralda Police, through its COPES and JUNGLA groups, and the CTI of the Risaralda Sectional Prosecutor’s Office. The operation took place between the municipalities of Belén de Umbría and Mistrató.

Thanks to military and police intelligence, sixteen search and seizure warrants were obtained, which led to the targeting of the targeted criminal component of the Edwin Román Velásquez Substructure, which was seeking to expand its influence in the department.

This organized armed group allegedly took control of drug trafficking in Belén de Umbría and Mistrató through targeted killings and intimidation of members of local criminal gangs, with the aim of financing its criminal activities.

The operation contributed to the clarification of eleven homicides and three attempted homicides that occurred in the area, as well as the seizure of three firearms of different calibers, ammunition, twenty-nine pairs of military boots, twenty-eight camouflage uniforms, harnesses, assault backpacks, and other items of clothing reserved for the Armed Forces.

The eight captured individuals were handed over to the competent authorities for prosecution for the alleged crimes of homicide, conspiracy to commit a crime, trafficking, manufacturing, or carrying narcotics, and manufacturing, trafficking, carrying, or possession of firearms.

This result represents the most decisive blow against the GAO Clan del Golfo in Risaralda, achieved thanks to the effective coordination between the National Army, the Police, and the Prosecutor’s Office, in defense of the security and tranquility of the Coffee Region.

The San Mateo Battalion, as a military unit of the department, reaffirms its commitment to working in a coordinated manner for the protection of all Colombian citizens.
