Colombia derrotó a Argentina en la semifinal y espera rival del duelo entre Brasil y Uruguay.

La Selección Colombia se clasificó este lunes para la final de la Copa América Femenina y obtuvo un cupo para los Juegos Olímpicos de Los Ángeles 2028 tras empatar 0-0 contra Argentina y ganar en la tanda de penaltis (4-5), mientras que la Albiceleste deberá conformarse con billete para los Juegos Panamericanos de Lima 2027 y disputar el tercer puesto.

El equipo del DT Ángelo Marsiglia jugará en la final de la Copa América al ganador de la otra semifinal, que disputarán el martes Brasil y Uruguay. El choque por el título de la Copa América será este sábado 2 de agosto (4 p. m., con TV de Caracol TV, RCN, DSports y Ditu).

En la definición por penaltis acertaron para Colombia Catalina Usme, Jorelyn Carabalí, Manuela Pavi, Linda Caicedo y Wendy Bonilla, mientras que Mayra Ramírez estrelló su lanzamiento en el travesaño.

Por parte de Argentina convirtieron sus penaltis Flor Bonsegundo, Sophia Braun, Aldana Cometti y Kishi Núñez, pero la portera colombiana Katherine Tapia le detuvo un penalti a Paulina Gramglia, mientras que Eliana Stábile mandó al poste el decisivo lanzamiento.

Durante los noventa minutos, los equipos disfrutaron de buenas ocasiones para convertir, pero faltó precisión y las porteras también tuvieron una gran actuación, especialmente la colombiana Tapia.

Yamila Rodríguez disfrutó de tiempo y espacio para adelantar a Argentina, pero permitió la reacción de la portera Tapia que le bloquear su remate.

Las colombianas Rodríguez y Caicedo se enredaron cuando la oportunidad era propicia para cualquiera de las dos, lo que hizo que la delantera del Real Madrid rematase sin dirección al arco.

Seguidamente, Tapia controló a gran nivel sendos disparos desde fuera del área de Rodríguez y de Aldana Cometti en acciones diferentes.

En el segundo tiempo, Varelin Loboa recibió una asistencia entre líneas de Leicy Santos, pero Solana Pereyra se interpuso a su remate.

Caicedo lanzó un pase a media altura y Loboa no alcanzó a rematar, y en los instantes finales la misma Caicedo intentó superar por alto a Pereyra, pero la arquera argentina le ganó el mano a mano.

En el desempate, la portera Tapia fue clave con una atajada, las jugadoras mostraron categoría a pesar del fallo de Ramírez, y sellaron in extremis el cupo en la final.

Colombians Rodríguez and Caicedo tangled up when the opportunity was right for either of them, causing the Real Madrid forward to shoot wide of the goal.

Tapia then brilliantly controlled shots from outside the box by Rodríguez and Aldana Cometti in separate plays.

In the second half, Varelin Loboa received an assist from Leicy Santos, but Solana Pereyra blocked her shot.

Caicedo launched a mid-level pass, but Loboa couldn’t finish. In the final moments, Caicedo herself tried to beat Pereyra, but the Argentine goalkeeper beat her in the one-on-one.

In the tiebreaker, goalkeeper Tapia was key with a save. The players showed class despite Ramírez’s mistake, and they sealed their place in the final in the last moments.
