ATENTARON CONTRA EL ALCALDE DE CARTAGO.

Un nuevo hecho de violencia conmocionó al municipio de Cartago, cuando el alcalde Juan David Piedrahita, fue víctima de un atentado sicarial al ser interceptado por hombres armados en plena zona rural, cerca del sector de Modín.

Aunque el mandatario salió ileso, uno de sus escoltas salió herido tras el ataque armado.

Los hechos ocurrieron al medio día del domingo 15 de junio, los sicarios dispararon en contra la camioneta blindada en la que viajaban el alcalde, impactando el costado del conductor, uno de los escoltas resultó herido en una pierna.

El alcalde y su escolta  heridos fueron trasladados al Hospital San Juan Dios de Cartago donde el funcionario fue valorado y confirmado fuera de peligro, mientras que el escolta recibió atención médica y fue dado de alta.

Las autoridades judiciales investigan los móviles del ataque sicarial, pero hasta el momento no hay  capturas por este hecho.

A new act of violence shook the municipality of Cartago when Mayor Juan David Piedrahita was the victim of a hitman attack after being intercepted by armed men in a rural area near the Modín sector.

Although the mayor was unharmed, one of his bodyguards was wounded in the attack.

The incident occurred at noon on Sunday, June 15. The gunmen fired at the armored truck in which the mayor was traveling, hitting the driver’s side. One of the bodyguards was wounded in the leg.

The injured mayor and his bodyguard were taken to San Juan Dios Hospital in Cartago, where the official was evaluated and confirmed to be out of danger, while the bodyguard received medical attention and was released. Judicial authorities are investigating the motive for the attack, but so far no arrests have been made.
