Arrancó al séptima versión del Risaralda Bird Festival con el lanzamiento de una emisión filatélica, la cual resalta la riqueza ornitológica tanto en la ciudad como en el departamento. A través de está colección  de estampillas, la cual contó con la participación de la empresa de Servicios Postales  nacionales 472 , para distribuirlo tanto a nivel nacional e internacional, se hace énfasis en 19 emblemáticas  especies del departamento, como lo es el águila real de montaña.

Durante la inauguración se llevaron a cabo conferencias,  entre las cuales se destacó la ponencia del veterinario experto en conservación de especies, Antonio Rodríguez, quien desde españa compartió su eperiencia en la conservación de especies, incluyendo de diferentes variedades de animales.

Así mismo se espera que se lleve a cabo una comparsa que incluya a estudiantes y entusiastas en las principales calles del centro de Pereira.

Cristian Toro, secretario de Desarrollo Económico y Competitividad expresó que se espera la llegada de más de 10 mil pajareros a esta zona del país, con un ingreso apróximado a los 9 millones de dólares y aprovechando la ubicación geográfica  y esratégica  que tiene la ciudad de pereira en la que en tres horas  la redonda tenemos el 60% de las aves  del país.

Estamos queriendo hacer un promoción importante para que los turistas pongan su mirada a la ciudad de Pereira y lo más importante o solamente pensando en que podamos tener a Pereira  a Pereira como destino de turismo, sino también como un destino de conservación.

The seventh version of the Risaralda Bird Festival began with the launch of a philatelic issue, which highlights the ornithological wealth in both the city and the department.
