Agoniza el Nevado Santa Isael y con ello el recurso hídrico para alrededor de 80% de la población de Risaralda.

El Director de la Cárder, Julio Cesar Gómez, afirmó que las tradicciones y los estudios hablan de que en 5 años podría desaparecer toda la estructura gélida de este Nevado que le da vida al río del Otún.

Para contrarrestar esta grave amenaza se debe empezar con procesos de sustitución de la ganadería y cultivos en el piedemonte paramuno por polibosques y sí garantizar el recurso hídrico, también la “cosecha”,  de agua a través de las aguas lluvias, entre otras medidas.

A pesar de este grave panorama, actualmente el río  muestra buenos ni WATER, WE MUST ACT NOW.

The Nevado Santa Isael is dying and with it the water resource for around 80% of the population of Risaralda.

The Director of Cárder, Julio Cesar Gómez, stated that traditions and studies speak that in 5 years the entire icy structure of this Snowy Mountain that gives life to the Otún River could disappear.

To counteract this serious threat, we must begin with processes of replacing livestock and crops in the Paramuno foothills with polyforests and guarantee the water resource, also the “harvest”, of water through rainwater, among other measures.

Despite this serious outlook, the river currently shows good levels.veles.
