ABANDONO TOTAL EN EL VIADUCTO.

A pesar de que el viaducto es reconocido como una obra vial importante, su estado es crítico debido a la persistente vandalización.

El puente constituye un punto de referencia para la ciudad, convirtiéndose junto al monumento del Bolívar en uno de sus principales íconos.

El viaducto “césar Gaviria Trujillo”, une a Pereira con Dosquebradas travesando el río del Otún , este es considerado una de las obras viales más importante de Colombia y fue inaugurado en el año 1997, es decir hace 27 años, sin embargo, a hoy,  se encuentra en un estado deplorable, más que todo en los andenes, sus barandas , ha sido bandalizado hasta el punto de quedar en riesgo total para quienes transitan por allí,  todo esto sumado a la inseguridad que tiene el lugar.

Aunque el viaducto es una infraestructura a cargo de Invías, lo que se conoce es que no ha sido intervenido para mejorar su aspecto, además se logra ver que algunos de los pasamanos de los peatones se ven oxida, lo que de alguna manera implica que siga siendo más fácil vandalizar y es por ello que a través del tiempo las personas se llevan las partes en metal.

Although the viaduct is recognized as an important road work, its condition is critical due to persistent vandalization.

The bridge constitutes a point of reference for the city, becoming, together with the Bolívar monument, one of its main icons.

The “césar Gaviria Trujillo” viaduct connects Pereira with Dosquebradas crossing the Otún River. This is considered one of the most important road works in Colombia and was inaugurated in 1997, that is, 27 years ago, however, today , is in a deplorable state, especially on the platforms, its railings, it has been vandalized to the point of being at total risk for those who pass through there, all this added to the insecurity that the place has.

Although the viaduct is an infrastructure in charge of Invías, what is known is that it has not been intervened to improve its appearance, and it is also possible to see that some of the pedestrian handrails are rusty, which somehow implies that it continues being easier to vandalize and that is why over time people take away the metal parts.
