En el marco de operaciones militares orientadas a la protección de la población civil y la estabilidad del territorio, tropas del Batallón de Montaña N.° 9, adscrito a la Novena Brigada, lograron ubicar un depósito ilegal.

La operación se desarrolló en la vereda El Oso, jurisdicción de la inspección de Guayabal, municipio de San Vicente del Caguán, donde, gracias a acciones ofensivas y labores de control territorial, las tropas hallaron material de guerra que al parecer pertenecería al grupo armado organizado residual (GAO-r) Estructura Rodrigo Cadete.

En el lugar fueron incautadas 215 unidades de munición eslabonada calibre 7.62 milímetros para ametralladora, 3 unidades de munición calibre 7.62 milímetros para fusil tipo AK y 3 unidades de munición calibre 5.56 milímetros. Este material fue puesto a disposición de la autoridad competente para el respectivo proceso.

Este resultado operacional constituye una afectación directa a las capacidades logísticas y armadas de los grupos residuales que delinquen en esta región del país, debilitando su accionar criminal y reduciendo el riesgo contra la población civil y la Fuerza Pública.

La Novena Brigada del Ejército Nacional reafirma su compromiso con la seguridad, la protección de las comunidades rurales y la consolidación de condiciones de tranquilidad en el sur del país, invitando a la ciudadanía a continuar denunciando cualquier hecho que atente contra la paz y la legalidad.

Colombian Army Discovers Illegal Ammunition Depot in Rural Area of ​​San Vicente del Caguán.

The discovery impacts the logistical capacity of illegal armed groups.

As part of military operations aimed at protecting the civilian population and ensuring territorial stability, troops from the 9th Mountain Battalion, attached to the Ninth Brigade, located an illegal ammunition depot.

The operation took place in the village of El Oso, within the jurisdiction of the Guayabal inspection area, in the municipality of San Vicente del Caguán. Through offensive actions and territorial control efforts, troops found war materiel that apparently belonged to the Rodrigo Cadete Structure, a residual organized armed group (GAO-r).

At the site, 215 rounds of 7.62mm machine gun ammunition, 3 rounds of 7.62mm AK-type rifle ammunition, and 3 rounds of 5.56mm ammunition were seized. This material was turned over to the appropriate authorities for processing.

This operational result directly impacts the logistical and armed capabilities of the residual criminal groups operating in this region of the country, weakening their criminal activities and reducing the risk to the civilian population and the security forces.

The Ninth Brigade of the National Army reaffirms its commitment to security, the protection of rural communities, and the consolidation of peaceful conditions in the south of the country, urging citizens to continue reporting any activity that threatens peace and the rule of law.
