Alias Diomedes, quien habría pertenecido por cerca de tres años al GAO Clan del Golfo, tendría injerencia en los municipios de Betulia y Concordia, en el suroeste antioqueño.
11 noviembre 2025 09:39 AMEn las últimas horas, soldados del Gaula Militar Valle de Aburrá de la Cuarta Brigada, en coordinación con la SIJIN Antioquia, sostuvieron un combate de encuentro con presuntos integrantes de la subestructura Edwin Román Velásquez del Clan del Golfo, en la vereda Santa Mónica, municipio de Concordia.
Durante la operación militar fue capturado alias Diomedes, presunto cabecilla de zona de este grupo ilegal, y aprehendido un menor de edad. Asimismo, se registró la muerte en desarrollo de operaciones militares de otro presunto integrante de la subestructura.
De acuerdo con información preliminar, alias Diomedes estaría vinculado con incursiones armadas recientes en el corregimiento de Altamira, en Betulia, y con el cobro extorsivo a distintos gremios del sector.
El capturado deberá responder por los delitos de fabricación, tráfico y porte de armas, municiones de uso restringido de las Fuerzas Armadas, así como por fabricación, tráfico, porte o tenencia de armas de fuego, accesorios, partes o municiones.
En el lugar de los hechos fueron incautados una pistola calibre 9 mm, un revólver calibre 38 mm, munición de diferentes calibres, dos motocicletas, un teléfono celular y estupefacientes. El capturado, el menor y el material incautado quedaron a disposición de las autoridades competentes.
Con este resultado se logra una afectación directa al componente criminal del GAO Clan del Golfo y se evitan posibles acciones terroristas contra la Fuerza Pública y la población civil, contribuyendo así a la estabilidad y seguridad en el suroeste antioqueño.
La Cuarta Brigada del Ejército Nacional reafirma su compromiso de debilitar el accionar armado de los grupos ilegales, proteger a la población civil, contribuir con la seguridad de la región, y fortalecer la gobernabilidad en el departamento de Antioquia.

In recent hours, soldiers from the Valle de Aburrá Military Gaula of the Fourth Brigade, in coordination with the Antioquia SIJIN (Judicial Police), engaged in a firefight with suspected members of the Edwin Román Velásquez substructure of the Clan del Golfo, in the Santa Mónica village, municipality of Concordia.
During the military operation, alias Diomedes, the suspected regional leader of this illegal group, was captured, and a minor was apprehended. Additionally, another alleged member of the substructure was killed during military operations.
According to preliminary information, alias Diomedes was linked to recent armed incursions in the village of Altamira, in Betulia, and to extortion of various business associations in the area.
The captured individual will face charges of manufacturing, trafficking, and possession of weapons and ammunition restricted to the Armed Forces, as well as manufacturing, trafficking, possession, or carrying of firearms, accessories, parts, or ammunition.
At the scene, authorities seized a 9mm pistol, a .38 caliber revolver, ammunition of various calibers, two motorcycles, a cell phone, and narcotics. The captured individual, the minor, and the seized materials were turned over to the appropriate authorities.
This operation directly impacts the criminal element of the Clan del Golfo armed group and prevents potential terrorist attacks against the security forces and civilians, thus contributing to stability and security in southwestern Antioquia.
The Fourth Brigade of the National Army reaffirms its commitment to weakening the armed activities of illegal groups, protecting the civilian population, contributing to the security of the region, and strengthening governance in the department of Antioquia.
