EL PRESIDENTE GUSTAVO FRANCISCO PETRO URREGO, VIAJA MUCHO LO MÁS SENSATO ES ESTAR AQUÍ RESOLVIENDO TANTOS PROBLEMAS QUE AFRONTA COLOMBIA.

La mayoría de los presidentes han declinado invitaciones y cancelados viajes, muchos de ellos a eventos trascendentales y de vital importancia para el país, cuando internamente se han presentado hechos políticos, o económicos o de orden público que requieren todo el cuidado y la atención del jefe de Estado.

Por eso, es sorprendente que en medio de semejante crisis, con la mitad del gabinete renunciado, con el orden público añadiendo en buena parte del país, con la policía nacional en chok ante la intempestiva salida de su Director Nacional, con la mesa de diálogo con los grupos armados reventadas, con el Congreso citado a extras y sin ningún enlace con esta corporación  yen medio de otros gigantesco escándalo de dineros de contrabando a su campaña, el presidente haya tirado la puerta de su oficina , cogido un avión y se haya ido para Dubái para asistir a la cumbre mundial de gobiernos.

Sin desconocer la importancia de la reunión de gobiernos den Dubái, es absolutamente inexplicable la ausencia del presidente en el país. Así se diga que el está permanentemente comunicado con sus funcionarios cercanos y que hoy las comunicaciones permitan un contacto directo con quien se quiere hablar.

Esto hasta podría ser válido si el presidente tuviera una comunicación fluida y cercana con sus ministros y altos funcionarios del Gobierno; pero un mandatario que no habla con sus segundos, que no les contesta al teléfono ni los recibe, difícilmente podrá atender los problemas nacionales desde la lejanía de los Emirato Árabes.

A quién podrá el presidente pedirle desde allá un reporte sobre la crisis del Catatumbo o del Chocó, sino hay ministro de Defensa; o sobre la suerte de sus iniciativas en las extras del Congreso sino hay ministro del interior, sobre la escandalosa presencia de alias “Papá Pitufo”, en su campaña, si todos sus amigos ya no están porque los cambio por Benedetti.

Lo sensato, lo que hubiera hecho, cualquiera con la responsabilidad de un presidente, es cancelar cualquiera con la responsabilidad de un presiente, es cancelar la asistencia a la Cumbre de Gobiernos y ponerse al frente de los problemas y tratar de solucionar la crisis política, de gobernabilidad, económica, de credibilidad y de orden público que vive el país y que se ha avivado por cuenta de las propias decisiones del presidente Gustavo Francisco Petro Urrego.

Most presidents have declined invitations and cancelled trips, many of them to transcendental events of vital importance for the country, when internal political, economic or public order events have occurred that require all the care and attention of the head of state.

It is therefore surprising that in the midst of such a crisis, with half of the cabinet having resigned, with public order in a large part of the country in turmoil, with the national police in shock due to the sudden departure of its National Director, with the dialogue table with armed groups blown up, with Congress summoned to extras and without any link with this corporation and in the midst of another gigantic scandal of smuggled money for his campaign, the president has slammed the door of his office, taken a plane and left for Dubai to attend the world summit of governments.

Without ignoring the importance of the meeting of governments in Dubai, the absence of the president in the country is absolutely inexplicable. Even if it is said that he is permanently in communication with his close officials and that today communications allow direct contact with whomever one wants to speak with.

This could even be valid if the president had fluid and close communication with his ministers and high government officials; But a president who does not speak to his seconds, who does not answer the phone or receive them, will hardly be able to address national problems from the distance of the Arab Emirates.

Who can the president ask from there for a report on the crisis in Catatumbo or Chocó, if there is no Minister of Defense; or on the fate of his initiatives in the extras of Congress if there is no Minister of the Interior, on the scandalous presence of alias «Papa Pitufo» in his campaign, if all his friends are no longer there because he changed them for Benedetti.

The sensible thing, what anyone with the responsibility of a president would have done, is to cancel attendance at the Summit of Governments and put himself at the forefront of the problems and try to solve the political, governability, economic, credibility and public order crisis that the country is experiencing and that has been fueled by the very decisions of President Gustavo Francisco Petro Urrego.
