Ejército Nacional propina contundente golpe al GAO Clan del Golfo en Valdivia, Antioquia.

Las unidades mantienen el dispositivo sobre el área y continúan con los registros con el objetivo de prevenir cualquier acción que este grupo armado pretenda adelantar en el sector.

En el marco del Plan de Campaña Ayacucho Plus, tropas del Gaula Militar Bajo Cauca del Ejército Nacional, sostuvieron combates con el grupo armado organizado (GAO) Clan del Golfo, lo que dejó como resultado la muerte en desarrollo de operaciones militares de un presunto integrante de la Subestructura Julio César Vargas, perteneciente a esta organización ilegal.

La operación militar se realizó en la vereda Pensilvania, jurisdicción del municipio de Valdivia, Antioquia, donde además los soldados incautaron material de guerra, intendencia y comunicaciones.

Entre los elementos hallados en el lugar se encontró un fusil, 4 proveedores metálicos, 271 cartuchos calibre 7.62 mm y un radio de comunicaciones.

Adicionalmente, fueron incautadas prendas de uso privativo de las Fuerzas Militares, como 17 camuflados tipo camaleón, 15 equipos de campaña, 6 guerreras, 15 cintelas; 16 buzos tácticos, 5 hamacas, un chaleco multipropósito, pañoletas, cantimploras, pavas, entre otros elementos.

Este material, al parecer, sería utilizado para infundir temor y atacar a la población, así como a las tropas que realizan presencia permanente en el sector y que han logrado adelantar importantes acciones para desarticular esta estructura ilegal que delinque en la zona.

En el desarrollo de la operación, uno de los soldados resultó herido y con apoyo de la Fuerza Aeroespacial Colombiana fue evacuado de manera inmediata hacia la ciudad de Medellín, donde se encuentra recuperándose en un centro asistencial. 

Con este resultado se debilita el andamiaje logístico y armado del Clan del Golfo, el cual busca fortalecer sus capacidades mediante el desarrollo de actividades ilícitas que atentan contra la seguridad de las comunidades de esta zona del norte de Antioquia.

El Ejército Nacional seguirá desplegando operaciones militares orientadas a neutralizar todos los factores de criminalidad, proteger a la población civil y mantener el control del territorio.

As part of the Ayacucho Plus Campaign Plan, troops from the Bajo Cauca Military Gaula (GAU) of the National Army engaged in combat with the Clan del Golfo (GAO). This resulted in the death of an alleged member of the Julio César Vargas Substructure, a member of this illegal organization, during military operations.

The military operation took place in the Pennsylvania district, within the jurisdiction of the municipality of Valdivia, Antioquia, where soldiers also seized military equipment, supplies, and communications equipment.

Among the items found at the scene were a rifle, four metal magazines, 271 7.62 mm caliber cartridges, and a communications radio.

Additionally, items of clothing reserved for the Armed Forces were seized, including 17 chameleon-style camouflage uniforms, 15 field equipment, six tunics, 15 headbands, 16 tactical overalls, five hammocks, a multipurpose vest, scarves, canteens, and kettles, among other items.

This material was apparently used to instill fear and attack the population, as well as the troops permanently present in the area and who have successfully carried out significant actions to dismantle this illegal organization operating in the area.

During the operation, one of the soldiers was injured and, with support from the Colombian Aerospace Force, was immediately evacuated to the city of Medellín, where he is recovering in a health center.

This result weakens the logistical and armed structure of the Gulf Clan, which seeks to strengthen its capabilities by developing illicit activities that threaten the security of communities in this area of ​​northern Antioquia.

The National Army will continue to deploy military operations aimed at neutralizing all criminal activity, protecting the civilian population, and maintaining territorial control.
